Highly informative, valuable, and not too good to be true
David Hartshorne has provided a valuable service to the engineering design and manufacturing industry by documenting and effectively communicating the powerful insights that he has uncovered, refined, and codified over his long pioneering career in the field of technical problem solving and prevention. He reveals and explains using real case studies little-known powerful insights and strategies that when applied allow tough novel technical problems to be quickly diagnosed using minimal resources. And if that is not enough, the same principles can be applied proactively to flush out and prevent those hugely expensive problems that reach the customer undetected.A quick and must read for any leaders responsible for directing or managing engineering design or manufacturing who are interested in dramatically improving their speed and efficiency in technical problem solving and prevention. If you or your organization is currently using Ishikawa (Fishbone) diagrams as any part of your problem-solving approach you definitely need to read this book.I first met David Hartshorne over 20 years ago when I was struggling to find the cause of a multi-Million-dollar warranty problem that had gone unsolved for several years. With his help we were able to quickly diagnose the cause, quickly verify the causal mechanism, and implement an effective fix. Needless to say, I continued to hire him whenever I got stuck, each time learning more and more from him, and rapidly becoming more proficient myself. An overview of those valuable lessons I learned from David that transformed my own ability to problem solve are now available for the first time in this book. They work and they are not too good to be true!

Crucial read for any technical problem solver!!
David Hartshorne and John Allen are two of the best problem solvers globally. Incredibly inventive mindset to convergent problem solving. Drives true understanding of the problem from a physics standpoint minimizing the number of parts needed. This technique has drastically changed my ability to solve complex problems.
