Lipper International 1889 Bamboo Wood Slatted Laptop Stand

I was sure my laptop would slide off (It won't)I was sure it would not really keep it cool (It does)Probably some cheaply built product (It isn't)It would be an understatement to say I was surprised, I bought a second one after using the first one for a few days for my own laptop (the wife bought the first one without my expert advice for her laptop) . It is simple but does not slip, does not let the laptop get hot and actually looks good in the house (most coolers have looked like baby transformers). Highly recommend this item and I have to say my wife is smarter than she looks :) I would never have bought this. They even have enclosed a full set of extra feet in case you wear the original ones out (not sure how you would ever do that) but after 5 months of use I decided to write this review since most things like this usually disappoint me, this was a most pleasant surprise.NOTE: I read some of the other reviews about poor quality and it is like I got a different item since mine are high quality and work perfectly plus I ordered them a month apart. The only thing I might think plays a part is make SURE the one you order says this "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com." since there are many sellers and they might not be really selling the same thing.

This tray is lightweight and suitable for keeping the heat off of your lap, but it is very cheaply constructed. There are four slats on the bottom that serve to elevate the tray, but when placing this on your lap, it is very uncomfortable, with the top slat digging into your knees. When I received it, the side slats on the bottom fell off with one use. No glue on them, they were just wedged in there. I tried contacting the seller, but didn't receive a response. I would have sent it back, but, truth be told, it would have been more hassle that it's worth, and I would still need a laptop tray. So I purchased some wood glue and clamped them down overnight, seems to be holding for now. I'm looking for a way to put something soft on the bottoms so it would be more comfortable to use.Functional, but definitely not worth the $22 I spent on this item.

The price is great, but it might just as well say some assembly required. Two of the wooden supports had come off before I even opened the package. Since then one more fell off. I have bought some wood glue and will try to fix it. I will also use some very fine sandpaper to take off the roughness. Bamboo can feel like silk when properly sanded. All in all it is worth the money and I consider these minor flaws.

Pros: good price, environmentally friendly material, effectiveCons: Seems like you may or may not get it in one piece. Mine arrived without 1/2 of the leg supports- just the glue strip markings for where the legs may have been at one point! Absurd. It still works and was priced okay, but pretty ridiculous that people are having such problems getting intact orders.

I hope Amazon re-stocks it if I ever need another one. Really nice and solidly made. It keeps my laptop slightly angled and ports away from dirt, crumbs, etc. See the number of sales and reviews for other items from this company if questioning from negative reviews.

It required gluing as arrived with a broken part. We had on I got at Marshall’s and really liked it so ordered this one. Same brand. It does work once repaired

I have been looking for a nice laptop desk for a while, but never found one I liked. My dad got one of these, I tried it and loved it. Ended up ordering 2 more for everyone in the family to have one! Looks nice and is very lightweight, keeps both my legs and the laptop cooler. The angle it has is perfect for holding the computer in your lap or on a table to watch a movie. Awesome product.

Purchased this for my 15" Macbook Pro. Perfect size and the tilt angle is very pleasing as well. However, the item arrived damaged, with one of the bamboo strips unglued from the edge. Currently in the process of sending it back for a replacement and hopefully the new product arrives without defect.EDIT: I have received a second tray, and it arrived in an even sorrier state than the first one. The entire foundation that supports the tilted angle had fallen apart before I'd even opened the package. I'd rather pay more for a similar product that doesn't fall apart on me than this cheap one that can't make it to my doorstep in one piece.
