Most tracks have multiple guitars, with a guitar providing the rhythmic form similar to the guitars in roots reggae. Most tracks also include different percussive instruments, and/or brass. Growing up in the Caribbean, this sounds sounds very similiar, but as if you slowed down our music to 3/4 tempo. As usual with Putumayo compilations there is plenty of variety and it does not get monotonous or old. Listen to this one when you want to relax and take it easy. Love at first listen
Absolutely gorgeous. Some cds take awhile to grow on you. This one l fell in love with instantly. Can' t recommend this highly enough. Every song is good. LOVE IT

I just keep buying Putumayo Presents
Putumayo delivers the music of the world and of the locals. I'm a musician and got real tired of American music long ago. It just keeps getting worse overall, but I have my favorites. Putumayo is now a favorite.

Love every track on this CD; it's exposed me to many new-to-me artists, and has inspired me to learn more about Cabo Verde culture. Beautiful.
