Pictured is the Gabbie Small alongside its underdeveloped cousin, the Gabbie Mini, both in Nocturnal Grey. I purchased the Small first and liked almost everything about it except for the depth: at 6”, it felt like I was carrying around a little suitcase. So I looked at the listings for the Gabbie Mini and saw that the listed dimensions were only slightly smaller in length and height (1/2” and 1-1/4”, respectively), but it was only half as deep. A slightly smaller version seemed like a good idea, so I bought a Mini— and then laughed when I saw it. It is MINI. Like, really mini. It’s child sized. After doing my own measurements, I discovered that the listed measurements for each are misleading, at best. Apparently, Kipling’s measurements include the little flap of cloth that extends beyond the zipper to form part of the handle. But this is not useable interior space. For length, I measured from side pocket to side pocket. For height, I measured in the center of the purse. And for depth, I measured the width of the base. My measurements are (LxHxD): Gabbie Small: 11 x 7-1/2 x 5-1/2 Gabbie Mini: 8 x 6 x 3 Mini went back. I kept the Small. And despite my initial reservations, I have come to love it. Yes, it is a bit too wide and clunks against my leg when I walk, but it holds everything I need and more. And because it is relatively shallow, nothing gets lost at the bottom (my biggest complaint about larger purses). I absolutely love all the zippered pockets for keeping everything organized. My wallet goes in the larger outside pocket for easy access. My phone goes in the small pocket for ditto. (Granted, I have a smaller-than-normal SE IPhone. I’m not sure a larger phone would fit.) Papers and receipts go in the back zippered pocket. I stow my keys in one of the little side pockets, so I never have to fish for them inside the purse. The other little side pocket is good for lip gloss or other small things like that. (It will also hold a mini bottled water.) That leaves the interior free for bulky things like sunglasses, phone charger or IPad mini. I love having a place for everything and knowing where everything is. This is a thoughtfully designed purse. The only thing it’s missing is a cute fuzzy monkey instead of the inferior naked rubber one. (Why, Kipling? It can’t be saving you that much.) I took off one star because I still think it’s a bit overly deep, but I’ll just have to resist the temptation to fill it up. I also love the color— they call it Nocturnal Grey, but it’s really a muted dusky blue. So far, it seems to go with everything. I’m really happy I kept it. EDIT: One year later, and this is still my go-to purse. I love everything about it, including the depth, and have upped my star rating to reflect that. In fact, I even bought it in two more colors. I’m admittedly a bit of a purse hoarder, but all my others (including other Kiplings) have been languishing at the back of the closet since I got my Gabbies. What can I say, they’re just jealous.

Love this bag! Holds plenty, is not heavy before you fill it. Can be washed. My phone fits in front or back zip pocket. I can hold folded grocery bags in large zip front pocket, so I never forget to bring in store. Enough room for baseball cap or foldable hat if you want to take off when inside restaurant and not forget it. Cross body strap changes easily from short to long. Enough room for large sunglasses. Small outside pockets hold keys or lipstick for fast access. I bought what they call small in red and grey. I got the mini in bone. Same bag but definitely mini. It holds plenty for when you don’t need to carry everything.

Kipling is always quality. Perfect stitching, zippers, and material. I even put them in my washing machine, delicate cycle. This one is a nice light brown or tan color. I like how I can adjust the length of the strap for a shorter hand held purse, to over the shoulder, to cross body. You can always spot another Kipling fan by the monkey key chain attached.

Cute but I need a size up to carry everything. Several people have commented that it's cute. Pockets on the end are not big enough to carry even a small water bottle. Instead, I carry tissues and hand sanitizer.

As a long-time fan of Kipling products, this purse definitely didn't disappoint. I had my last Kipling purse for 8 years, and while I was sad to see the zipper finally wear out, I’m thrilled with this new one. I love the design with all the pockets and zippers, which help keep everything organized. Plus, the lightweight feel makes it incredibly comfortable to carry around.

I now have 5 of the Kipling small Crossbody bags, and also ordered one for a friend. For my first four bags I purchased bags that I thought would be practical. For this purchase I received money for Christmas, and treated myself to the same bag in red. Love it! The purse holds a lot. It has many pockets so I can quickly find things. Cell phone in one pocket, keys in another, comb and lipstick, magnifyinig glass, tissues and mints. The largest compartment holds my wallet and sunglasses. Works perfect. And I get compliments about them all the time, and especially now when I'm wearing the red. One caution: there are three versions of this bad: mini, small, and large. Check the dimensions before you order.
