My mother was paralyzed by a stroke. She only has mobility in her right arm and arthritic hand, so one-handed eating is difficult. The world of the severely handicapped is new to me, so when her OT specialist recommended a rocking knife, it sent me to the Web to research. I found the Kinsman utensils on Amazon. While the reviews are varied, most of the negative reviews were complaints about users with tremors – which are not my mother’s condition.Bottom line: they work very well! My mother likes them and uses them now for all her meals. It’s made a tremendous positive improvement in her ability to feed herself. And just as importantly, a positive improvement in her self confidence and esteem. I highly recommend them for anyone who has the same physical eating challenges as my mother.

I got this for my wife who had lost fine motor skills due to a brain tumor. These have been a great help. The larger handles and the weight makes it possible for her to feed herself easier. I gave it 4 stars because the handles stained with spaghetti sauce. After several weeks it did go away. Overall these have been a boon.

These eating utensils are great for people that are limited to the use of their hands from arthritis, neuropathy, and have lost their grip on normal eating utensils. they are weighted, thus giving one more grip.

They are weighted but not by much I knew they weren't gyroscopic the seen them at the price of the red and made me feel a little optimistic for my grandpa who had a stroke 2015 and still can't out@ feed himself without shaking so bad because of the Parkinson's disease

Purchased for elderly parent who is disabled. Although product seemed a bit pricey for us, parent loves them. Says they make eating much easier due to larger handles and custom bendability. Parent no longer spills food so this decreases amount of laundry duties. Recommend purchasing this product!

This product it great, right away my mother was able to pick up the fork and see an improvement. The heavy handle tricks the brain into focusing on the weighted utensil which steadies the arm and hand. My mother has trouble gripping small things. I noticed she always preferred to use a steak knife because the handle was thicker. These utensils worked right away and made my mother feel more comfortable eating at the dinner table with the rest of the family.

Very nice set of utensils.These are so helpful to my Mom who has suffered a recent stroke. But after less than 2 months of careful hand washing the fork is separating from the handle.

I bought these for one of my clients in a group home setting that has Parkinson's. He is very thrilled as he can eat without spilling the food all over the place before getting it in to his mouth. He is a very proud man and does not want to be assisted with feeding. He wants to do it himself! The weighted utensils dramatically help with his tremors during mealtimes!
