Received these about a week ago. Both grinders are exactly as advertised - a no-nonsense, simple, effective, elegant grinder. The resevoirs are perfectly sized for bulk peppercorns or coarse salt. The adjustable grind is greatly appreciated. The grind aperture is large enough that you don't have to grind for 1/2 hour to get 1/4 tsp of pepper, even on the finest setting.As someone pointed out, we have had problems in the past with nylon grinding burrs. But we have also had issues with metal burrs. These seem to be a bit tougher. The grind is consistent with no clogging. We'll see how it holds up long term.Design-wise, these are simple and well thought-out. The caps can be used as a platform for recipe measurements. Leave them on while grinding and you have a perfect capture device for fresh-cracked pepper or precision ground spices (though we have yet to use them in that capacity - I'll let you know after our next round of home made sausage). The simplicity of the design allows for easy refills. Important for those of us how have arthritis.Definitely recommended for those people who want simple and effective seasoning tools without blowing large wads of cash. Five stars

These grinders will allow you to make fine powders out of your pepper and salt. Even if you don't have coarse salt, you can grind pre-ground salt into an even finer powder. You can also use the salt grinder as a salt shaker. Twisting the black screw at the end will allow you to control the flow of salt if you choose to use it as a salt shaker instead of a grinder. My set didn't come with instructions for how to wash for first use. I've included a picture that will help you take it apart and put it back together for cleaning.

love, love , these Salt and Pepper Grinder Set... they look so nice along side my stainless steel stove and Refrigerator.. and hold more than enough pepper and salt to last a long time. they work so smooth and easy to fill and love the covers that keep the contents fresh. Would buy them again.

I've had some small, cheap grinders before. They didn't last long. I've been using pre-packaged grinders and finally decided I wanted a good permanent set. This set from Best Cook Friends seemed to fit the bill.I washed them as recommended and then dry out for a day. I've been using them both now for just over a week. I've been very pleased with the performance. I use the salt grinder set about as fine as you can and the grind comes out great. Gives me a nice light dusting with just a crank or two. The pepper grinder I've set finer since the original setting I had. I'm pleased with the grind I'm getting now.Both units are very adjustable to meet just about any size grind you'd want. One problem I've had before is the grinding mechanism gumming up. This one is ceramic and can be taken apart. I'm anticipating that it won't be a problem cleaning when it needs it.

I really like the cap on these. I cook a lot and measuring with a mill is messy. With these, i grind into the cap, pour into measuring device and have no mess with significant less waste.

After struggling with our current grinder set I decided to jump on Amazon and order a new set. The arrived quickly, well packaged and I immediately washed them and filled them with salt and pepper. They are easy to clean, use, fill, and look really nice either on the dining room table or my counter top in my kitchen. I'm extremely please with the price and quality of this set. I was constantly filling the other grinders and then it became imposssible for me to get the top off my old set, so this is a pleasure. Great product!
