Detailed and enjoyable
Very detailed nice little looks into what the girls are thinking and tells the story thoroughly and enjoyably based on the show.

Yeah no :(
I was excited to read this, having just finished the series and wanting to know more about the world of Winx. Unless you enjoy reading a flat, worse version of a script, I don’t suggest this. I find this writing to be immature, which is hard to understand given it is a direct copy of the television series (written AFTER the series, not before). I realized it was based on the series, but was hoping it would be its own version, and would give me deeper insight into the characters and storyline. Oddly, it somehow took away from what the series had given me. I’m a somewhat picky reader, but am also a great fan of well written YA fiction, so I’m not overly critical of writing meant to be understood by a teen. This is not that. I’m sorry the author did the best they could, but this isn’t it.

book review
Triggers : depression, mental abuse, murderWhat I thought : Honestly, I’ll start off with the Netflix show. I binged it the day I finished the book on my kindle. The book was obviously better. The show should have flowed better within itself. It seemed all chopped up and it could have been made better. Still liked it and the most dramatic part was the very end of the last episode. The book just flowed better. More detail, no surprise there. The book was made/written based on the show so I understand why it was dark. I understand why it all happened the way it did. I enjoyed the story and can’t wait until there’s more. I hope the next book comes out way before the next season (PLEASE).Characters : I love Bloom and I cannot WAIT to learn more about her family. Sky seems interesting and I hope Stella and her mom figure things out in the future (as someone with mom relationship issues, I’m intrigued about it).Read if you like : Fantasy, boarding school vibesWould I pick it up again? Yes

A decent companion piece to the Netflix series
The Fairies' Path is a novelization of the first season of Fate: The Winx Saga- a Netflix show that was a guilty pleasure for me. I found that show entertaining, if flawed, and it did grow on me. I feel the same way about this novelization, that it's entertaining, if flawed, but it kind of grew on me.I like that this book fleshes out things that were somewhat glossed over in the show and gets into the heads of the characters a bit more. Sub-chapters being from different character points of view is a great touch. The Riven (one of the characters) chapters were especially fun to read. I like that the book progressively peeled back the layers of his complex character, as opposed to the show where he didn't really get much development until the very end.On the other hand, there are some necessary details in the show that were overlooked in the book, which is why I think it serves better as a companion piece to the show than a substitute for watching it.I have several other nitpicks as well. For starters, why is it that Bloom's chapters are first person while everyone else's are third person? That made the narrative feel inconsistent. I think all the chapters should have been third person. The first-person Bloom chapters are also problematic because some of the vocabulary of her inner thoughts seems too literary for a teenage girl. Heck, I found a lot of the vocabulary in Bloom's first-person chapters too literary for the average adult protagonist. I certainly don't use words like "punctilious" in my inner thoughts despite being an educated book-nerd. Were the Bloom chapters third-person, the vocabulary describing her inner thoughts would not have been so jarring.I also don't like that both the Riven and Sky (another character) sub-chapters are both labelled "Specialist." That makes it confusing for readers. The first "Specialist" sub-chapter is a Riven chapter which would make readers think that all the Specialist sections are from Riven's point of view, when that is not the case. Labelling them differently, even just Specialist-1 or Specialist-2, would have been a better choice.I feel like this book serves better as a companion piece to the show rather than a substitution for it. I liked being able to recap/relive the show in a different way without watching it again, and there were small details in the book that weren't in the show and vice versa. Therefore, I would only recommend this to people who've already seen and enjoyed the show as an entertaining "relax/pleasure" read.

Great plot, tho the writing could be more extensive
It’s a great story, really. It nearly follows the show word for word, and though it makes promises of extra scenes, there aren’t very many revelations into the world. Could definitely use some world-building, and it could definitely explore the points of views of the three teachers more.

Great
Amazing writing. Excellent novelization of season 1. Each character has their own personality and writing/thinking style. I didn't learn anything new (except 1 possible delete scene with Terra that I deemed very unlikely for her character; I mean she would've untied Dane and not asked Riven to do it) but I loved diving deep into our main characters' mind. Will definitely read it again. Can't wait for the upcoming prequel novel Lighting the Fire, written by the same author, and all the future seasons' novelization. Please continue writing books for this show, Ava/Sarah. I'm obsessed!

Ótimo livro
Ótimo livro, mas é o que é, uma adaptação do roteiro da série Fate nada mais. Gostaria que tivesse algo a mais como comentários do roteirista ou da escritora que adaptou mas é um ótimo livro!!

Lovely, but
Adore this author's writing style. Great banter and characterization. Expands the universe and worldbuilding. Big problems of the series bleeds into the book however. The series made all characters and plot points very dark and edgy, which I did not like about a Winx club adaptation. The absolute massacring of Stella's character as well as the white washing of Flora was tragic. I desperately want media to start allowing female characters to be girly, while still being nice and worthy. This is not the author's fault. The book is truly great. Just a warning to anyone hoping for sparkly happy Winx content as well as anyone that hopes these tie-in novels will retroactively course-correct the show's grim-dark edgy make-over. Also some one get Aisha out of here. She is too good for everyone and way too under appreciated.
