Worked fine for 4 years, then stopped
Worked fine for 4 years and then stopped. Compressor turns on, filter is clean, but air is not cooled. Contacted frigidaire and they said it was not cost effective to repair and I should buy a new one instead.I've generally understood air conditioners to last 10-15 years.. to have this die after 4 and have no recourse but to just buy a new one is dissapointing to say the least.

Not be used as heat source
I purchased this unit to heat and cool a 500 square foot shop. When I went to use the heater to help raise the temp. it blew ambient air. Spoke with the rep and they said it has a single element that air blows across. Not intended to heat a room. Don't be fooled by the description. I hope the AC is intended to cool a room.

don't pay the extra for the heat function because it doesn't work
tried to deal with the frigidaire people and they are impossible to reach. this is huge, heavy and doesn't do the job although it uses a tremendous amount of energy trying

Nice but....
It doesn't cool a very large area. I have it in my bedroom but I have to make sure the bathroom doors are closed as it will not cool the entire area.

we vented this unit, and it works great. move it from floor to floor and vent thru the window, brilliant!
