Scales for the Double Bass Paperback – February 11, 2015

I have been playing electric bass for over 25 years. I have always been fascinated with the double bass, so I purchased one for my 40th birthday. I wanted to start with the proper technique this time. I started buying everything double bass book I could find. I now have 20 books and videos, but none show a simple effective way to learn scales and proper fingering. That’s until this book. Scales for double bass. This book is really a gem. My only complaint is, i wish it was available a digital book.

A great book even for a very new beginner like myself. I would recommend it to someone wanting to learn to read bass clef music and bass scales.

This book has a good selection, from standard scales all the way to three octave scales utilizing thumb position.

Good practice tool for scales, starting with one octave and going all the way to 3. Useful alternative fingering as well. It was exactly what I wanted

usually hard to find . Rewriting my review After working with it and unfortunately have John Paticucci’s scale book . ( luckily) This is confusing . Instead of making it easy to understand for all levels of students here’s another lazy teacher , that instead of formatting what string you should be on he simply says go check Simandls system . No we bought this book for that reason .A waste of money . Simply buy Paticucci’s book a true genius , player AND teacher . For all levels and you won’t have to fall asleep trying to configure Simandls dated book .

Love this!!!!! Has already added to my learning as it helps with shifting. This, my chord wheel and the keyboard notes are all making things interesting!!!
