Nice toy but it’s mostly plastic with only top strip being wooden
First impressions of this were positive, it looks impressive appearing to be mostly made of wood with a small part being plastic at the top. However when you get it out (having to cut away 4 plastic zip ties) you can see it’s actually all plastic minus the strip of wood which sits on top of the base and has the keyboard design painted on it. I wasn’t expecting that amount of plastic but it does seem well made and good quality as is standard with baby Einstein toys. It also comes included with the AA batteries already installed which is a big plus for me!The keyboard itself we’ve found fun and have enjoyed swapping between the keyboard as a piano, xylophone, synthesiser, drum kit and playing silly sounds. When you tap a key a light above it also comes on in the same colour which is a nice touch. The feature I like the most is when you press the round blue button and it basically teaches you how to play a song by lighting up the colour above the key you’re meant to press. Once you’ve finished following the lights it will play the tune as it’s meant to sound with a bit of backing music. Our favourites on that were twinkle twinkle and happy birthday.Overall I’d say this is a nice toy but I would have preferred the sharp black keys to work and for it to use less plastic/ more wood to justify the current price of £59.99. If it goes on sale for less I’d recommend it.

Educational and feature-rich musical toy
The media could not be loaded. We are expecting our first in a few months and we also have some little nieces and nephews that would love playing with this keyboard toy. Baby Einstein has a great reputation for musical and educational toys, and this toy is absolutely wonderful!Pros:- Very light for it's size and has a convenient carry handle- High quality materials with vivid colours- Suitable 12-36 months- 150+ sounds, melodies and light up interactions- Three modes:-- Instrument mode - this lets you select different instruments with the characters at either side-- Melody mode - this gives you a tune to follow along to by pressing the blue Einstein button and using LEDs to show you, and it will then play you the tune of you succeed - very rewarding!-- Child mode - this mode is comprised of silly sounds and animal noises- Super colourful design is really eye catching and great for stimulating the senses- The surface of the keyboard is smooth and has no raised keys, but uses the very smart and sensitive baby Einstein magic touch technology- Wipes clean easily- Comes with AA batteries includedCons:- The only con is that the black (sharp) keys don't do anything, they seem to be there for design onlyI really like this toy - I think it's fun for adults and for children - it's completely delightful! It's great value for money and will be great to use together with our daughter and the younger members of our families. Highly recommended as an exceptional educational, musical and high quality toy that will last.

Colourful, Fun and Perfect for Early Encouragement... We Just Wish it was Able to Do One More Thing:
Very long keyboard, probably;y suited for upto age seven. Even our five year old is very taken by the realistic nature and the highly sensitive touch board of this keyboard, even though she has a very decent grown-up Casio keyboard. She exclaimed, of the keys, "I'm not sure how they've done it...but it's like magic!"It is much more fun than a 'boring' black and white, more grown up keyboard, so it's perfectly suited for early learners and to entice your little one to the arts. Be it, piano, drums, xylophone and even hip hop by a simple flick of a switch. An impressive total of 150 separate sounds, melodies, special effects, plus a complete set of funny sounds to help them develop a keen sense of tone. You can even follow the guided light-up console to copy the melody and playing along to it.● Is it Heavy? The keyboard is not heavy to carry even by the three year old - albeit a bit wobbly as its so long. There is a very handy bright turquoise rigid handle to make portability and travel fairly easy!Though it looks as if it's constructucted of mostly wood - it's actually fitted with a wooden veneer-like surface and the main body is plastic. The white plastic console above the actual keys, has a light-up rim extending along the entire length of the keys, each key has it's own distinguishable illumination in shades throughout the colour spectrum.● The Niggle:I would have loved for this device to be able to record lyrics too - even ten minutes of music would have been a great addition and worthy of an older child to be able to enjoy this as much as the stated 1 to 3 year olds. Perhaps via a jack connection or direct playback.Apart from the above, an absolutely wonderful piece of kit.5 stars
