Good quality catchers gear
Durable, light weight, protective of head, chest, shoulder, knees, fits perfect but can be adjusted as they grow, functions very well and easy to put on and take off! Great quality

The Samurai set is lightweight making it super comfortable and preferred by most youth players.
Youth set comes with 6 1/2" - 7 1/4"helmet , 14'' chest protector and 14.5" shin pads.I have 3 boys who are catchers and to say the least they are pretty particular when it comes to the gear they like. I have tried all of the gear available on the market and I coach as well so i have gear for my teams. The Mizuno Gear seams to be a favorite among players due to its lightweight design with great padding. The only downside to the mizuno samurai line is they don't make gear for kids under I'd say around 9 years old. This set is labelled as youth but the legs and chest really won't fit kids much younger than 9 years old. They have some cheaper mizuno gear but this set is top notch. I don't know anyone who has worn it that doesn't love it. All my sons started with easton sets and 2 of them now prefer this gear over easton because its more comfortable. I will say the helmets are not as good as the Easton Pro X or Easton Elite x helmets. I do think it is comparable to the easton gametime helmet. My son's prefer the Easton PRO x or Elite x helmets but like the chest and shins on this gear better. One thing that is unique to mizuno samurai set is the shin guards have an extra strap on the bottom of the foot protector that runs underneath the players cleat. Some kids like this feature, others don't. I prefer it to the easton gear for this feature because it prevents their shin guards from shifting around when they are sliding around on their knees as much. If you are looking for some great gear for your kid you can't go wrong with this set. The youth size will fit most kids age 9-15 depending on their size.

Great catching gear
Amazing gear my daughter loves it and it matches my travel teams colors and fits perfectly for a 5’2” 10 year old girl

Great looking product
I got this for my 8 year old son for is spring season in coach pitch. It was slightly too big and bulky for him this year. The gear was also on the heavier side. Being in southeast Texas, it was fairly hot for him as well. I had the adjust the facemask as far as it would go and still it was a tad tight for him.Comfort:For my 8 year old in Texas, this gear was a liitle big, he had a difficult time moving around in it and it got very hot. There is a good chance I was doing this wrong, but the head gear seem a little on the smaller side.Light weight:This gear was too heavy for my 8 year old.Durability:He wore it for a full season and the gear is still in gear condition. Of course, the knees and shins are scratched up, but the rest of it is good.

Great but padding is coming out.
Our gear is only a year old and the padding is coming out of the helmet otherwise the gear is amazing.

Way over sized, careful
Way over sized, the smallest youth 14" size, chest protector and shinguards are too big for a 9-10yr old boy that is 90lbs and 58" tall. Company knows this and will not take returns. Purchased when on sale for Christmas present, very disappointed. Never used and waste of money. Would have to wait likely 2-3yrs now to use. Had to buy another model, brand (actually cost me half) and works much better. Rawlings makes a few quality sets. Wish I could return the set, love the color, look, quality....but if it is too big, your child will not do well behind the plate. Speaking as a former catcher for many years at a high level.

Durable and fits!
My son is 9 years old and pretty thin. You can see in the picture we needed to zip tie the chest protector to tighten it more but this is not a fault of the gear. It has lasted through a summer and fall season and is holding up great! Highly recommend this set if you have a rough and tough catcher!
