Bluebird (Female) with Worm on Perch

This carving is of a female Bluebird ready to feed her young with a small worm she holds in her bill. The bird is perched on a wooden stump with a green mossy base. All of our life-size birds are hand-carved from basswood (a very carveable wood that does not split and takes paint well), hand-feathered to show detail and painted with acrylic paint. The eyes are glass, feet are metal and base is wood. The bluebird measures 6 inches from beak to tail, is 3.5 inches from head to foot and has an overall height of 6 inches.
