Love these, back to reorder.
After years of traveling to foreign countries with no gastric issues, my husband and I both wound up with food poisoning during a trip to the Dominican. My husband was not snaping back and I knew he needed some hydration support and I had a difficult time at our isolated resort trying to find gatorade to replenish his electrolytes, and when I finally did it was horribly expensive! Soon as we got home I began an online search for powdered electrolyte and found the Nuun tablets. Fortunately we have not had that unfortunate experience again, but we do not travel without a tube in the suitcase.I have since discovered the benefit to Nunn hydration during my twice weekly hot yoga classes. Plain water does not cut it with excessive sweating. I find my body recovers so much quicker just by dropping a tab in my 20 ounce thermo water bottle on my way out the door.I used to get sick after mowing the lawn of a really hot day, if I hydrate with electrolyte replacement the rest of my day isn’t ruined.Another recent discovery is that the Nunn tab is zero points on Weight Watchers Free Style ... 16 ounces regular Gatorade is 7 points, while G2 is 2 points. When helping my husband count points every little bit helps. (I believe the Nunn tab also has more electrolytes than Gatorade)Both my sons work construction and I make sure they have several tubes with them, especially working in midwestern hot, humid summers. There is always water on their jobsite so hydration electrolyte support is easy.Taste to me is just fine, other electrolyte drinks are to sugary sweet and I have to water them down, otherwise they make me feel sick. Not the Nunn tabs, not overpowering with sugar.

Peloton instructors use it, and I do too!
So I initially heard about these tabs from a workout facebook page I follow (specifically, the Peloton Official Riders Page), and thought I would give them a try. Apparently, these are the same energy tabs that some of the instructors use during their live classes. So, if it's good enough for them, it should be good enough for me, right? The first thing I noticed was how big the tabs are! Like, so big they don't fit through the opening of a standard plastic water bottle. So, I had to bite it in half (it has a line down the middle, so they are pretty easy to break). As I quickly learned, these are fizzy tabs. While they are first dissolving, the water maintains a fairly clear appearance, and slowly becomes more opaque and colored (depending on which tabs you get). It takes about a minute and a half to fully dissolve one tab.As for the taste, it's... interesting. I've been using the wild berry ones, and they have a diluted, weird taste. Not bad, but not at all sweet. They actually taste healthy, lol! Very similar to lightly flavored water (like only putting one or two drops of Mio in an entire bottle of water). So, not bad in any way, just very light.Energy-wise, I think these work. I'm no scientist, but I did "feel" like I had more energy. The mind is very powerful and capable of placebo affects, so who knows if it was actually energizing me, or just making my mind think it was being energized. Either way, I felt good, so yay! And the electrolytes are always helpful.Overall, I like these and will probably keep using them for my more difficult rides. And, it helps to feel trendy just like the Peloton instructors :)

Important to know what you are buying
The first question I had is how is this supposed to be pronounced? Is it like "nun"? Or more like the middle of the day "noon"?I haven't had to say it out loud yet. I hope I don't embarrass myself when that time comes. What exactly is it that we are buying here, anyway?Specifically, Nuun water enhancer is a product that helps hydrate. It can be a valuable product here in Phoenix where it gets a bit warm and dry during the summertime. Keeping a proper electrolyte balance is important to staying healthy and feeling good, and anyone who has ever woken up at 2:00 AM with a leg cramp knows that the negative effects can be.Nuun does a very good job at this with, of course, a couple of caveats. It tastes horrible. When I first tasted it, my first thought was "this tastes like baking soda". It tasted like salty baking soda. Then I read the ingredients. Yup. There is baking soda in this. It's one of the many electrolytes that they throw in there to give us a good balance. The problem with baking soda? You can't put it in anything without the flavor taking over what you are putting it into. You can get away with a little bit of it in a cookie, but putting it into a beverage will result in a baking soda flavored beverage. The good news is that it is also slightly salty, which gives it a bit of a soft texture. That means that it is pretty easy to chug this stuff, which is necessary if you want to get past the flavor. It's also part of the reason why, as some others have commented, that drinking a bottle of this will oftentimes leave one's mouth feeling thirstier than before.I've found that adding a drop of another water enhancer, like Myo, improves the flavor dramatically. I give this a "3" overall because it does what it is supposed to do very well, but I know a lot of folks who would not be able to drink this.
