Very Impressive!
I purchased this as a replacement for an old air purifier and I'm very impressed so far! It's been very effective in the dusty room I've been using it in. The difference in air quality is amazing and the carbon filter is very effective at getting rid of musty smells and stale air. It comes with a filter set in the device (open it and remove the packaging from the filters prior to use) and 1 replacement filter set in the box (containing a carbon filter and a 2 stage HEPA filter). The main concern with any of these devices is when the manufacturers stop making the replacement filters (which is what happend to the unit this is replacing), so I'd recommend purchasing a few sets of replacement filters when you buy this unit. The device is identical to the silent night air purifier and the filters for that are compatible with this device. They are available on amazon so I picked up a few to make sure this device will be operational for as long as possible (silent night model 38060 filters). You really can't get anything better for the price. Both the unit and filters are much cheaper than my previous unit and it performs just as well. I'm thoroughly impressed. It may not be the best choice for very large rooms but for an average bedroom it's perfect. And it has an air ioniser! Vitamins for the air! I don't write reviews often but this unit really warranted it. Such amazing value. It's not the quietest unit on full power but isn't particularly loud. Similar to a computer fan on full.

Air purifia
Absolutely great, not at all noisy, no smell, functions well, looks great and acts as a fan blowing out cool air.

Has genuine active carbon filters
Despite the cheap price, this air purifier is genuinely excellent. What's in the box: Air purifier (obviously) 2x pairs of filters (you put in 2 filters at a time, one for the HEPA and the other for the active carbon, so therefore 4 filters in the box) Instruction manual THE GOOD THINGS: I bought this mainly because it claims to have an "active carbon filter". This means that it can remove bad smells and gases, I was doubtful about this but I can confirm it does work! In my room, I have a 3d printer and also a tortoise which both give off pretty bad strong smells, but running this on the "normal" setting for 2 hours has completely removed these smells. My room measures about 7mx3m which is well above the stated maximum size, but these smells being removed suggest that it can process more air than that. I also suffer badly from hayfever, but it isn't in season yet so I have no comment on how this works, but if it's really a true HEPA filter this should solve this issue. It also features an air ioniser, but I'm not entirely sure if it works. I notice no difference in smells or air quality but this may just be me. It says that its not advised to be in the room when the ioniser is on. This features many settings, including a timer which has an optional 1hr, 2hr, 4hr or 8hr setting for how long the fan stays on until it turns off. It has different speed settings, being "normal", "turbo" or "sleep" mode. THE BAD THINGS: The noise! I usually sleep with a large tower fan overnight, but this is even louder than that. On the normal and turbo mode, its a constant steady hum (which is bearable), but on the supposed "sleep" mode, the fan is a lot quieter but there is a slight rattle. This rattle isn't predictable or rhythmic and its very hard to sleep with. I have ensured that all visible screws and clips are tight but I can't seem to get this rattle to stop. It features a "soft" switch, meaning that this isn't able to be controlled via smart plugs. If its on, and you turn off the plug and then turn it back on, the air purifier will not come back on. These negatives are not a deal breaker for me, so I will keep it but just please keep in mind the loudness of the fan!

Fan with a filter
In the portable "air purifier" space the prices some cost tend to be more based on the product marketing than any actual functionality or features. I appreciate that this one is mostly priced and sold for what it is, rather than making all kinds of unlikely claims and then charging a hundred pounds for what is in reality a fairly simple and low cost product. At the time of purchase this model was £33, which is a little more than I wanted to pay but is quite reasonable considering it comes with two sets of filters. Let's not beat around the bush, this (like many similar products) is a small standard tower fan unit worth maybe £15 with a plain old HEPA and carbon filter strapped to the back. Of course there's nothing wrong with this, as this is exactly what I was looking for and as far as amazon sellers go it is fairly honestly sold as such. The "ionizing" feature is a marketing gimmick but is easily enough ignored. I haven't checked if this "ionizer" actually does anything, but at present my air is not in need of any "ionizing" so this would be wasted effort. The other functions seem to work as described, with the "sleep" button being a simple high/med/low speed setting. On to the actual performance: This isn't something that will magically make all the air in your home clean and pure, nor is that the kind of performance most people generally would need. It will remove large particles (e.g. visible dust from the air, some possible allergens, etc.) and thanks to the carbon filter can help reduce bad odours. It's a very small unit which claims an effective range of 7m², which is perfectly believable, although it should be noted that a 7 square meter room would be one which is roughly 2.6m by 2.6m (~8.5ft), so about the size of a small lavatory or perhaps a generous airing cupboard. It may provide some improvement to air quality in larger rooms, but it'll likely be far from perfect. This means that the most effective way to use this device is to reduce contaminants is a small localized area, ideally one where the source of the contaminant is directly behind the intake - Or perhaps alternatively in a situation where some additional airflow is required but it's preferable that the air be reasonably clean of impurities. By far the most appealing feature is that it uses a fairly generic set of filters which shouldn't be too difficult to source low-cost replacements for when the time comes. Also, having read some other reviews it might be worth emphasising the point that this product is a literally a fan in case that wasn't obvious enough. It's not going to do much to the temperature of the room, and the air that it puts out is going to be the same temperature as what it takes in, except for that air being blown towards you...
