simplehuman60 Liter / 16 Gallon Swing Lid Trash Can, Grey Plastic

Looks good but leave much to be desired for functionality
We spent a lot of time looking for a replacement garbage can for our new home, one that looked good enough to leave out and not be staring at a garbage can. With having multiple children we knew stainless was out of the question because of hand prints and were happy to find this one in a nice grey. Unfortunately the design is terrible, the trash cant even be filled because it stops the lid from opening and closing properly. If you don't shove every item down low you will never fill a bag of trash. Once the trash is too high it also get the lid messy. Also, hard to remove the lid as you have to pull it on both sides- especially not very easy f you have kids helping with chores.

Nice Trash Can With 1 Issue
I like this trash can. I use it in the kitchen and its clean lines fit in nicely. It's very well made, easy to line and to remove a full garbage bag. I also very much like the size. The swinging lid is sturdy, swings easily and is well balanced. Price is excellent. Now to my issue: Basically, from the top of the lid to the bottom, it's 9", and 9" in the middle, however, the bottom is a rounded, 4", and the weighted top is narrow...one side is shaped like 1/2 of an hour glass. So, if I have something wide, say a dinner plate, that I'm scraping into it, I find it difficult to do so without getting food/mess on the lid or edge of the can. The shape is esthetically pleasing, just not kitchen practical...at least for me.Would I recommend it? Yes, with the proviso an understanding of the size of the opening is clear. Would I buy again? Yes, just not for the kitchen

Who gets excited about a trash can? This girl!
I have been searching for this type of trash can forever. I had a similar can several years ago - the spinning top and a lid that actually clamps down onto the can. How hard is that to find a duplicate? Well, pretty much impossible. I left my old trash can when I moved, who knew what a big mistake that would be. I've probably been through at least 3 others, spending about $10 - $15 each time, trying to find the perfect can. Do yourself a favor, spend the extra money now and just get this one. It's very heavy duty, well made, and as others have stated, buying the stretching 13-gallon bags works perfectly. We are emptying a little less now. The lid stays on securely. Huge win. I am extremely pleased with this purchase!

Never though I'd love a garbage can
This is the best garbage I've ever owned even though I was too cheap to pay the price tag at first. This purchase, however, is actually my second one. The first lasted 6 happy years (and is still going strong). The lid keeps IN most odors and keeps OUT the dog and kids. The lid is sturdy and well-built. It never has trouble swinging (unless I've filled the can too high) and is easy to clean and remove. I will never buy a cheap swing or step can again. This one is AWESOME.

All over great trash can - can't pick just one great attribute
I use 33 gal bags which work well in this. I only want to take the garbage out twice, max three times a week. This is tall, but slim so fits between my refrigerator and the back door that opens parallel to the bin. I love the swing top. I love how well it is built. I love the fact the swing top portion does not come off unless I want it to. I love the gray color (matches my appliances.). I love everything about this trash bin. My previous bin was better than anything I had found to-date, but I broke the swing top and never thought I'd find a suitable replacement. This bin is so perfect I can't begin to say. I'd give it a hundred stars.

Good can
This trash can seems to be very well built. I do think it's a little overpriced, but it is a very sturdy construction and it is large. That is what I was going for, and that is what I got. Overall I expect this trash can to last a while, and I am happy with the purchase. I use 30 gallon bags from Costco. They barely fit; they will fit with a small stretch, but not enough to tear the bag nor to keep the drawstring from working.

Good trash bin for busy salon.
This is so much better than those cheap swing lid cans you buy at Wal-e-world. I had gone through many and the cheap ones last about a year before the lid warps or the plastic cracks. This unit seems like its thick and quality made. The lid is formed and is solid and even comes apart for cleaning. The top fits on very securely with clips and hold bags in place. The base can is thick and the color is nice too. I got the grey. I finally found a well designed trash recepticle.

Very Sturdy
We got tired of stainless steel garbage cans with the finger prints, water spots, dents, etc. Ended up switching to plastic garbage cans that were pretty basic. Our dog was constantly getting into them. Ended up spending the extra money for two of these and I am soooo happy I did. We LOVE them and they are so much taller then our other ones and now our dog can't get into it. This garbage can is thick and sturdy and the lid locks on and is easy to take off.

Ideal for business that has customers that may use your bin.
Really good size for my salon. Clients were all impressed as they don’t need to touch. Sending over customers to buy

Top quality materials, built to last.
Very solid construction, the swinging lid is whisper quiet, and large enough for a black bag.

Nice
Nice bin but it states it's black and when it arrived it was grey so that's why it only has 3 stars
