Easy to use, pass through hot shoe
This trigger for the Q3 flash system is nicely designed, quite big on top of the camera but it is very ituitive and the pass through hot shoe is also handy. I had until now been using a dumb trigger which meant I had to manually change the flash settings on the unit, functional but irritating when using on location. This trigger however works well with my Canon cameras and I find the controls and menu system very similar to the ones on my studio lighting. Shame this wasnt available for Canon when I got the Q3 flash, better late than never I guess.

Bit fiddly to start with but worth the perseverance
The following is a review of the Neewer Q-C TTL Canon dedicated Wireless Flash Trigger compatible with Q3 PRO Flash Monolight unit. Having had the Q3 unit since last June (2021) and trying to find a Canon dedicated control unit (the Nikon and Sony compatible units were available though) in order to get the full potential from that unit, this surfaced not so long ago - see my review of the Q3 unit. In the box you get an instruction manual plus a small length coiled type flash sync cable, should you require it, plus 1/4 inch adaptor so you can use it for the synch lead as required. This is quite a nice compact unit with good read out - the LCD panel is at a 45 degree angle so you can see it straight on or looking down on it should the case arise. It connects easily to the camera - I have it on my Canon 7D - with a cam type mounting foot lock (similar to the one used on the Canon flash 580 EX11 model) as one twist and it locks basically. Yes, this unit does work well after a bit of fiddling about initially to set it up, like a lot of other things do these days. To be honest although I have only had it a few weeks now, I am still learning (my time has been taken up in other areas) but it fires the main flash as it should, the LCD panel is easy to navigate plus the buttons respond well. There are assorted videos on YouTube, mostly positive, that also prove to be useful although some leave a lot to be desired. So far I am pleased with this purchase and it gives more scope to get the full benefit from the Q3 main unit itself but why they didn’t make this Canon dedicated unit available at the same time as the others is a mystery.
