Light Weight Reel

Higher quality and sturdier than I had anticipated. I have a rectangular 16 x 32 ft pool with a fairly substantial solar cover. The reel assembled easily (took about 90 minutes). Attached securely and squarely to solar cover. With my wife on one side to anchor the stand guide the cover, and me on the other to crank the wheel and guide the cover, we rolled the cover squarely and very easily onto the reel. I’m very pleased.

I bought this for my 15'x32" rectangular swimming pool. Easy to assemble although the instructions were missing a step...it was easy enough to figure out. This one comes with slide in clips, not velcro like others here have said. It is very light, yet the materials seem sturdy. I set it up with my 12 year old son and it works really well. If you have 2 people to help guide it as you roll/unroll it, it works best. But my 12 year old can still roll and unroll by himself. It is also easy to roll to the side of our house with the solar cover rolled up to hide it when guests are over. I personally think it looks better than the white rollers that just sit there.

These are super strong, small medium weight magnets. They work great are not breakable! They hold a lot more than you would think for being such small magnets. Great to use on your shop or home! Price was good and the quality is great.

The product quality is outstanding. It's much better than the worn and saggy reel it replaced. There are, however, two areas that need improvement. #1 is the assembly instructions. Assembly is quite simple but the instructions rely almost completely on pictures. I few words at each stage would make assembly a bit easier. #2 The reel is shipped in two packages. Competitors use shorter tubes, allowing for a smaller box. The Vingli uses just 3 tubes, allowing for a stronger, stiffer reel, but it means the box is very long and leaves no way to pack everything in a single box. That's not a problem, two boxes. The problem is box 1 is shipped with a tracking number and all the info Amazon is famous for. Box 2 is a ghost. Amazon closes shipping info after box 1. The only hint that there is a 2nd box it some printing on the first box that I didn't see until I finally discovered a second box was coming. I suggest Amazon and Vingil both make a better effort to explain the other parts are not missing, they are coming in another shipment. Tracking for that shipment would help. Mine were several days apart.

This pool cover real is excellent! It takes a bit of work to install the pool cover to it, but it is very easy to use, and can be managed by one person, both putting the pool cover over the pool and removing it!

As indicated in their description, the 18 foot unit was sent in 2 boxes. The company is located in China. The instruction book is horribly written and even though there are pictures with the instructions, the pics could also be better illustrated. Since they sell thousands of these units, all they would need to do is to pay an American a nominal fee to make certain that all of the instructions are written in easy to understand English. The hardware parts they sent were for a different model. Seems like no one checks these things before shipping. Many connecting hardware parts did not fit this unit. It took three times of writing to them before they actually realized what I needed. They sent replacement parts fairly quickly and I just completed the job yesterday. Everything seems to work correctly and the unit works as indicated. I live in Florida so it's very common to get extreme winds and storm conditions throughout the warm months of the year. The unit will not handle a tropical storm or hurricane without tipping over and possibly causing damage to personal property. I will be drilling small holes in my lanai frame and attaching cables to this unit to help it withstand heavy winds. Without doing that I highly suggest using waterproof sandbags or waterproof bags of stones on both sides to stabilize the unit.

I'm sorry I bought this product. We are looking at alternatives already to replace it. My pool is 18 ft wide so I ordered the 18 foot reel thinking the that would meet my needs, but the footings are just 3 inches wider so there is very little wiggle room when moving the reel. No where was it recommended that I purchase a wider reel when I researched it. It's already fell in our pool 2 times and I've only had the product 3 weeks. The clamps that attach to the pool cover, that came with the product, have come off 5 times out of 5 times when I unrolled the cover. I spent another $20 replacing their defective clamps. We bought this product thinking this was going to made our lives a little easier than using the pool reel we had originally purchased when we put the pool in 26 years ago, now I wish I had my old reel back

This is the first season that I have used this solar cover reel. It was easy to assemble, seems sturdy enough for my needs and is easy to operate. Rolling up the cover is a breeze for one person... rolling the cover out over the pool can be done by one person, but having a person on each side makes the job quick and easy. I do recommend getting a pair of (water-filled) weights for the reel's feet. They just help hold the reel in place while using it.
