Prevention Ultima Blood Pressure Monitor with Computer Download Capability

Was looking for a Bp monitor with download to pc. Thought I had found a good one. No problems with the actual monitor like the others, but seems I will never be able to download readings to pc. The software is a major pain. I have done everything it says to do in the poorly explained manual, twice. Still get an error that says "no response from bp monitor". It states in the manual that the software wont work on pc's with a Vista upgrade. I have a new Acer laptop that came with Vista so no excuses there. With all the complaints on shoddy workmanship, plus goofy,outdated software, poor customer relations, I say dont buy this product. Im sorry I did. One problem ,I need help so I can download software but I can't find any way to download on the website in the manual. please help me with this.I need this in order to download and print my blood pressure information.I called a number from the website and left a message but no response. This not what I expected. I am returning it. Thought from picture and description that it was a wrist monitor with download capability.Which is what I wanted. Good if you want a arm band monitor. Do not know about download ability as I did not use.

There was no AC adapter and the batteries which were included were corroded. The flaps and tabs on the box were dog-earred as well. I will not buy from this vendor again.

A good product that is well made. If you need to keep up with your blood pressure this monitor will do the job.

Two things...and yes, this is from the others that have posted about the software (and one other observation)...I've had this monitor for about 7 years. Yup, it's that old at least. Got it to see what my cardio system was doing. I must have had the software then (although I don't really remember being a mac person).It works well enough and seems innocuous enough and does it's job. It doesn't get used much but I want to change that. So i'm on the prowl for software that can work with it either manufacturer or open-source.The amazement is I can't find it online (nor the manufacture yet) and none here have said were they DID get it!And I'm not the only one that's looking for it. How about some love for those of us who are out in the cold folks!

Mine arrived working. The device is HUGE, did not expect it. Works fine hardware wise. Major improvement over my old wrist blood pressure monitor which gave readings all over the map. The major problem with this unit is computer interface and their computer program for data viewing, etc. Horrible Windows 95 vintage crap. USB isn't really normal data storage device, rather it emulates old crappy 9600 phone modem. Inexcusable in this day and age. Was unable to get it to work under XP or Vista running under Parallels on iMac. Bootcamp fine, but the software really is awfully clumsy, modal, unpleasant to use in the standard old Windows way. Awful. This significantly detracts from its value.

I bought a Prevention monitor from another site a few years ago and have not had any problems other than the lack of software. I was thinking of picking up a second one to have at work so that I don't have to carry it back and forth from/to home. I'm surprised by the low reviews as mine works well. I get around the lack of software by storing a spreadsheet in a cloud drive.
