iCrimp Ratcheting Crimping Tool Set 8 PCS - Quick Exchange Jaw for Heat Shrink, Open Barrel, Insulated and Non-Insulated Ferrules AWG 20-2

This crimp set had been an absolute beast on my hobby desk. I am in 3d printing, electronics, RC cars, home electrical and this little case holds all the crimping action I could ever need. I love the grip, it feels so smoothe in the hand. The one downside is you need to be careful you don't lose your spring on the strippers, it's possible to pop off. The connectors pop off and on super easily but remain solidly in place and don't slide around leading to great ease of use and are very accurate.

The iCrimp IWS Quick Change Ratcheting Crimper is a well designed tool that delivers excellent results. I have used non ratchet crimp tools on light gauge wire (# 10 and smaller) for decades. For larger conductor terminations I have used anything from hydraulic crimpers, long handle models and so forth. I have crimped conductors as small as #14 to cable as large as 1000MCM feeder cable for 23KV power systems. I am glad I waited to buy this tool. Not because it was not needed YEARS ago, but because I believe the model I purchased last week and the state of current design technology (for this kind of hand tool) has evolved to a point that cannot be improved upon (and if so, not by much). When you ratchet it down to its point of auto release, you know the proper amount of pressure has been applied to the crimp and conductor. In the past I never was confident that I did NOT over stress the light gauge crimps so the auto release feature is a worthy upgrade. In addition, the 6 different sets of jaws it comes with are designed for specific terminal applications, where in the past I had been using a "one size fits all" hand crimper for ALL small gage wire crimps - and doing so for WAY too long. The first crimp I made with the iCrimp IWS Quick Change Ratcheting Crimper was on a #12 stranded copper wire and a corresponding male, insulted spade terminal. The crimp came perfect. I was so pleased with the results that I began looking around the shop for older terminals that I might replace with upgraded quality of workmanship. I found a few and had fun re-making those crimps. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and I can assure you I will be keeping this tool very handy. It is one of the best things I have purchased in a long time and I highly recommend it.

It is a good product. I was a little concerned about the ergonomic design of the crimper, but this product surprised to me. It is very good quality and design. Perfect for the price.

Theres nothing like having the right tool for the job and this set makes it really easy. They work great and feel reasonably sturdy. I did have an issue with one of the inserts, it had a pretty sizable burr on the key that slots into the handle making it impossible to use. I ended up filling it down and it works great now.

I bought this tool to crimp these tiny light bulb terminals in a 1950’s instrument cluster. This did such an incredible job and far exceeded my expectations. The best part is that I could put the terminal in the tool, and it ratchets down so it could hold the terminal in place while I specifically place the wire then crimp. Wish I would have found this sooner!

Super nice, I've tried almost every type jaw and they work great with the ability to adjust the clamping force

The only complaint is that the jaws aren't in the same order as on the lid and dont fit in that order other wise I have been using them for the last week doing a audio system for my buddy and I have used just about all the jaws I like that theres a release but I do wish it was easier to use but works as it should no real complaints all my connections are tight as they are supposed to be and I was impressed with the wire strippers they did get a hair or 2 of the wire a couple times I do think it was my fault cause of the angle I pulled love them and glad I made the perch

This crimping tool offers the versatility of several too tools in one. Switching out the numbered jaws is very easy to do. The fitted case unfortunately has the remaining jaws in specific spots and are not always interchangeable with the ones being changed. The picture on the inside shows the purpose of each set of jaws and the numbering makes it foolproof. Crimping uninsulated terminals is a one step operation and the finished product resembles a manufactured crimp. The matching wire stripers are also well made with easy to read wire gauge sizes. Both tools fit nicely into the sturdy case with the only drawback being the fact that all jaws do not fit into all spaces which is the sole reason for the 4 star rating. A good investment for anyone who desires a professional look and feel to terminal ends.
