Knipex 16-20-50 Folding Knife

To be clear, this is 5 stars for a knife less than $50. It is not a high end knife though so it's 4 stars for content (no locking mechanism or high end blade/handle material features). But you can do anything with it. And it just goes and goes. I use this in my farm and garden daily and it's awesome. I bought a 2nd one so I can have a backup when I drop the first one in the garden. Actually, I lost the first one and bought the 2nd just to get back to work. Eventually I found the first one and so on. Bottom line, after 6 months in the dirt, this "budget" Knipex knife had no rust or complaints. This is just a great tool. Rejoice!

This is a very good utility knife and it's made in Germany. The blade steel is good for general utility work and is easily sharpened. I like the shape of it for the things I do with a utility knife. Highly recommended!

Knipex uses soligen steel blade, top-drawer steel for a knife blade. I carry this while working, occasionally dressing the edge on a small fine grit oil stone I keep handy in my tool box, I keep a syringe of mineral oil I use on the stone. I also use the stone and oil to dress the edge on box cutter blades. Box cutter blade steel is great for sharp edge but dulls quickly and changing box cutter blades is too time consuming…so I dress the edge on both the Knepix knife and box cutter blades. I keep the Knipex knife in my pocket and use frequently.
