This print that I call, "Home" was created for printmaking project/ exhibition called, "Skagit Women Print" that is a collaboration of prints by Skagit Valley printmakers. I made a few extra prints for the shop, but the rest are in private collections and framed for exhibitions. The Skagit Valley (where I was raised and currently live) is beautiful farmland that's located an hour north of Seattle, WA and about an hour south of Vancouver, BC. The light and color is incredible in the valley along with the fawn and fauna - all of these things influence my work that you see in my KLTworks shop. The photos are from the exhibit at the Anchor Art Space in Anacortes, WA. This print is an original serigraph, screen printed by hand in my Northwest studio. This print comes from a run of 40 and is a 7 color, hand pulled print. Because these prints are printed by hand, they may have small inconsistencies from print from print, making them truly one of a kind (which adds to their charm). The swan, deer, & squirrel image was originally drawn by me using thread & free motion sewing. The water-based ink is mixed by hand in small batches: green, yellow, light blue, poppy red. The print comes unframed but could fit in standard 16" x 20" with a mat. Pictured is a custom frame with print floating on a solid mat. Prints are rolled in a heavy shipping tube to make sure they get to you safely.
