Brought my DEAD battery back to life!
I really, really like this charger. I left my car for a month while hiking the PCT and came back to find my LiFePO4 lithium battery DEAD. Trying to recharge it by staring up the engine and charging it that way did zero/ nada/ nothing. So I bought this on a lark, hooked it up .. and lo and behold .. it bought it back to life! It's easy to use, light, small, and costs about half as much as the bigger name brand chargers. Needless to say .. I'm very, very happy with it. Highly recommended.

5A Smart Car Battery Charger
I purchased this charger for the sole purpose of mounting it in my truck as an onboard charger, since the truck is not used every day. It was billed as being compatible with AGM, which my battery is. I wasn't sure before ordering how this would work, as another bench charger I have, you have to select the different mode each time it is plugged in, which would not work for an onboard charger that you simply plug in without opening the hood. Turns out, the manufacturer was smart enough to realize this, and designed the charger so that when power is removed, it remembers the last mode set and returns to that mode automatically. So I was very happy, and the charger works exactly as it should. While I don't really need 5 amps for a maintainer, it is nice to have while working on a vehicle with various lights and accessories possibly operating, to maintain the voltage. The maintaining voltage is 13.25, which is perfect in my opinion.Highly recommend.

Initial impressions
Tried it on an almost fully charged 50AH Lifepo4 battery and a 100AH lead acid boat starting battery. Worked fine on both. Did get a little warm while using it on the boat battery. Also tried to revive an old AGM 100AH deep cycle batter that was giving me issues (wouldn't hold a charge). Brought this battery up to spec but didn't help the battery (I didn't think it would, but worth a try). When charging the AGM battery, the charger got extremely hot, but that's possibly due to the fact that it was trying to revive a bad battery. Will need to get an eye on the charger, but so far, happy with it. Would be nice if it had a digital voltage display but at this price, you can't have everything. Recommended...

Perfect accessory!
I needed a trickle charger for my camper battery. I mounted it near the battery and wired it in permanently. Just right!

Won’t fully charge golf cart batteries and other issues
Attempted to charge 130 Ah, 6V deep-cycle golf cart battery but charge never completed. Tried multiple batteries starting from 6.4V and reaching 7.1V while charging, but green LED kept flashing and display never indicated FUL, even after 12 hrs. Documentation and webpage have inconsistent max battery capacity including 100 Ah, 120 Ah, and even 160 Ah on cover of instruction pamphlet, but whichever one is accurate is probably still only for 12V batteries where charging current can be 5A. For 6V batteries, the only current setting is 2A.I’d hoped the LCD version of this product would display the actual charging current, but the current display only gives the 2.0 or 5.0 A setting, not the actual current, which should decrease in the Absorb phase.Lastly, instructions and labeling contradict themselves about the order of connecting the leads to the battery and plugging into the 120VAC outlet. I followed the directions on the charger itself which said the AC power should be disconnected before either connecting or disconnecting to the battery.I think I’ll just use a 12V charger to charge two golf cart batteries in series and not pay the higher price for a charger with a 6V setting but at a low current. I liked the compact size and absence of fan noise, but it doesn’t work for my batteries.
