I had limited space in the utility closet in my old house. Going vertical rather than horizontal allowed me to use traditional network cabinet gear without taking up so much horizontal space. I used the following components with the rack and they worked great: Monoprice Keystone Jack Panel, 24 ports Cable Matters® 25-Pack Cat6 RJ45 Keystone Jack in White and Keystone Punch-Down Stand Leviton 41106-RW6 Voice Grade QuickPort Connector, White TP-LINK TL-SG1016 10/100/1000Mbps 16-Port Gigabit 17.3-inch Rackmountable Switch, 32Gbps Capacity CyberPower PR500LCDRT1U Smart App Sinewave UPS 500VA 400W SNMP/HTTP 1U Rack/Tower NavePoint Cantilever Server Shelf Vented Shelves Rack Mount 19" 1U Black 8" (210mm) deep GearIt 10 Pack, Cat 6 Ethernet Cable Cat6 Snagless Patch 1.5 Feet - Black Pros: - Solidly built. Once the 4 wood screws are installed on the sides, there's little to no flex. - Mounts on standard 16-inch on center wall studs. Note: The rack is 19 3/4 inches wide from outer edge to outer edge. - Nice, slightly textured paint. - Comes with hardware mounting bolts and captive nuts. The bolts have plastic washers so that they don't scratch the rack paint. - I attached the NavePoint shelf to the studs above the rack to hold my modem and router Cons: - Because all of the ethernet and RG6 cables hang down below the rack, I had to be careful about strain relief, especially where I coiled up extra cable below the rack. The Cable Matters® Cat6 RJ45 Keystone Jacks don't have a zip tie strain relief slot, so the weight of the cables hangs on the punched down wires. Next time, I'll use Monoprice Cat6 Punch Down Keystone Jacks (105384) because they have the zip tie slots.

Works perfectly to mount rack mount gear on the wall. It seems flimsy when you first open it, but once it's mounted to the wall with ALL of the supplied screws, it is rock solid. If you have a servers or something that normally needs a 4 post rack then this isn't the right thing to use (I suppose you could use two of them, but alignment would be tough). This is for 2 post equipment like patch panels, switches, etc. I used them to mount a small stack of Cisco Catalyst and ASA gear, and it works fine. Pro Tip: Make sure your gear is designed to mount in the desired orientation. Cisco for example only allows certain orientations for proper cooling. Came with enough cage nuts to mount (3) 2U pieces of gear, which was a very nice surprise.

Bought this for my studio to mount a rack hardware unit under my desk and it works perfectly! Sturdy build, easy to screw into the bottom of my desk, looks great, and could be used for just about any rack mount use you could think of - nice to have that versatility!

This rack is very sturdy. The mounting holes to the wall are a little confusing as 2 of them are off center. The main holes are perfectly aligned on 16" centers and holding my server without hesitation.

Used this to mount my Tripplite power supply for my studio desk. Works for what I needed it for and it’s just that, has the square holes so you’ll need to get rack clips and matching rack bolts to mount your hardware. The Tripplite is not deep in the rack so a horizontal mounting has worked fine.

I have two of these racks, and I love them both! I wish they weren't so expensive, but they're very high quality. I've used cheaper rack units like this before and sometimes they come warped or bent. Not the case here. I have one of them mounted under a shelf in my TV stand. I have a Furman power conditioner in the top rack space, which powers everything and provides power conditioning and surge protection. Under that I have a 2U shelf, which has my cable box and a SNES classic. Below that I have a 1U shelf which has my Apple TV+, and an Apple Airport Express. Using this gives everything a really clean look. The other rack I have mounted under my desk, which is just a large plank of wood. My network switch is mounted in the top space, a cable management unit is installed under that, and then the last two-Us are occupied by a shelf which holds my router, modem, a couple of POE injectors, and a USB fan that sits on top of my modem.

I needed to add a quality CD player to my home studio for playback of my CD collection. Real estate is very limited on my desktop for space so I determined I needed to do an under countertop mount. I looked at a number of 2U rack under mounts, but none of them could support the 9 pound weight of the new CD player. I came across the StarTech 2U mount and it had plenty of strength. Super easy to mount. Lifesaver solution! Highly recommended.

Installed upder a shelf, looks great, feels very solid and works perfect. Provided hardware is a nice plus! I should have bought this a long time ago ! Would buy again absolutely, actually this would be the first thing that will come to my mind for small racks

Missing cage nuts requires return of complete product and resend a new package. Sending a missing item by mail might be a better option.
