Overall makes the shots have better extraction but the fit is not the exact same so can take some getting used to it.

I bought this basket to replace the stock basket that comes with the Picopresso. I was concerned that the new basket might not fit but it fits fine. Some reviews have mentioned they have problems with the funnel not resting securely on the basket but I found the funnel to fit just fine. I noticed a definite improvement in the flavor of my shots after replacing the basket and even got some crema on my first try. The basket appears to be high quality and is very easy to clean. The Picopresso doesn't screw together all the way with the larger basket but I haven't had any issues with leakage so far.

I purchased this as a gift for my husband and initially it didn't fit his Picopresso that well. The lip on the stock basket is 58.75mm wide while the IMS La Pavoni basket is 58.87mm. The curve on the lip of the IMS basket is more pronounced whereas the stock basket is somewhat flatter. It will fit the Picopresso, HOWEVER it leaves a slight gap when the portafilter is screwed back into place. So my husband used blue painter's tape to cover the holes on the inside and out to prevent metals bits from getting into the holes. He then took about 10 minutes in the garage and filed down the lip of the IMS basket stopping every couple of minutes to take measurements. He did this until it was the same dimensions as the stock basket's width and height on the lip. Afterwards he used super fine grit sand paper to smooth and polish the lip. The added bonus is that the stock funnel and tamper now works this the IMS basket. Hope this helps others when making the decision to purchase this IMS Competion Filter Basket to go with their Picopresso.

Fits the picopresso very well without the need for grinding or a gasket so long as you realize it will not screw down all the way. If you grind down the top edge it will but it is unnecessary in my experience, I had no leaks before I ground it down I just wanted it to fit a bit better, it changed nothing really. Very nice that 51mm paper filters actually fit the bottom 98% perfectly instead of the stock one where you have a big folded up edge all the way around the bottom of the basket. Highly recommend for the picopresso and for 51mm delonghi machines.

This great basket and fits good in my 51mm neouza bottomless portafilter. My espresso maker is an Espressoworks, but it will not fit the original portafilter that came with this machine!

So there was only one review where a customer said it did not fit the picopresso. I should have listened to that reviewer. Unfortunately, I did not and found out that it does not fit the picopresso. The issues: The lip/top of the basket seems to be two rounded so it doesn't site perfectly with the funnel. But more importantly, the basket itself is to narrow for the picopresso tamper so you can tamp the espresso. Lastly, the rounded top doesn't allow for a complete screw on to the unit which causes a bit of water leaking and a lack of pressure build-up.

I used this to replace the pressurized basket in my budget delonghi machine which uses 51mm baskets. I just had to take out the plastic flow calmer from inside the portafilter to make room and it works great!

I bought this specifically for the Picopresso and the sides are too wide to be screwed in completely, producing a screeching sound towards the end of the screw-in. As a result, the Picopresso is unable to contain pressure in the chamber and leaks water from the side instead of forcing it down the basket. I see people posting good reviews about the compatibility so I can only guess that the build shape is not consistent in terms of how far the basket's edges protrude.
