"Hellraiser 4-Movie Collection"- An efficient way to get four films in one Blu-Ray package.
It's always been frustrating how hard it is to get the complete "Hellraiser" saga on Blu-Ray. For such a well-known franchise, it's strange how many of the films either aren't efficiently available in HD, or are only available as part of collections that often go out of print. (I'm looking at you, "Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth!" Why can't that movie get it's own solo HD-release? Especially for us fans who didn't get the Scarlet Box before it went out of print.)Thankfully, the "Hellraiser 4-Movie Collection" is an efficient way to pad out your "Hellraiser" collection with four entries, all on one single Blu-Ray disc. Included in the set are:-"Hellraiser: Bloodline" ... The somewhat underrated fourth film in the saga.-"Hellraiser: Inferno" ... The surprisingly solid fifth film, and the first to go direct-to-video.-"Hellraiser: Hellseeker" ... The sixth film, which is... watchable, but nothing too exciting.-"Hellraiser: Hellworld" ... The eighth film in the saga, and one of the weakest entries if I'm to be honest. The disc itself is quite plain. There's only a single menu for selecting the film you want to view. Upon clicking the movie you want, it automatically starts. The movies each have about fifteen chapter-stops despite the lack of a chapter-selection menu, which is a plus. (I've had some similar sets in the past without chapter stops, which is always an annoyance.)In terms of quality, "Bloodline" is by far the best. It basically looks like a proper Blu-Ray-quality film. Likely in no small part thanks to the fact it had a bigger budget and was a theatrical release. The remaining three film aren't quite up to that standard, with softer images and somewhat muted colors that make them look more like upscaled DVD's than true Blu-Ray quality films. But they're all totally watchable. And as you might expect, there's no special features here- just four movies on one single disc. But given the low price of 4 films for under $20, I'm fine with it.I'm glad to have this set to go along with my Arrow Video Blu-Ray copies of "Hellraiser" and "Hellbound." Here's to hoping that in the future, "Hell on Earth" and "Deader" will be available again in HD so I can complete my collection of the first eight films.I'm giving this set a 4 out of 5. You're getting a decent amount of bang for your buck, and if you don't already own these films, this is a good way to pick them up.
