Sprout Pencil: Color Pencil 8 Pack (Mix Edition)

I bought the pencil for my nephew he absolutely loved the fact that he can plant them and have a small garden.

Cant wait to see if it actually works but I love the idea

I love love love the concept, but i think that when i order again I'll order through the sprout website.I received only 6 pencils and three were the same color.The pencils write well but not a dark as I'd like.Still love them though.

I was so excited to get these but the lead keeps breaking! I have tried different ways to sharpen and everything and it just keeps breaking. I would not recommend this product, sadly.

great xmas gift for friends and co workers. I'm not sure how well they work yet, as it has been too warm to use them!!

I was very excited to get these for my 12-year-old sister-in-law for Christmas. I thought it was a great idea – let her do all her schoolwork and coloring with the pencils for the remainder of the school year, and then plant them when it gets warm. I’m sure they will still serve that purpose.However, I was extremely disappointed that the back of the box stated that the pencils are non-GMO. GMO’s are not harmful to humans, animals, other plants, or the environment in general; they are equal to if not superior to their non-GMO equivalents in nutrition; they are less likely to carry soil-borne pathogens such as E. coli and Salmonella; they are less likely to have pesticide residue; and, they are actually better for the environment and sustainability than their organic counterparts since GMO’s require far fewer inputs of water, land, and pesticides than organic crops do (yes, organic crops use *more* pesticides than GMO’s of the same crop). Plus, there aren’t even commercial GMO varieties of the plants included in this assortment, so the non-GMO label is a fear-mongering marketing tactic. If I had known that this company was anti-GMO, I wouldn’t have bought these pencils. I refuse to support any company that spreads fear instead of scientific fact, and I will not be recommending these to anyone – in fact, I will recommend against them and instead encourage purchase of cheaper alternatives from other companies.
