TORCT27B1 FWT RS L T27B Full Face Modular Helmet with Blinc Bluetooth

For the price, it's tough to beat!
I bought this helmet for the Bluetooth and because I already had another Torc 27 with BT and wanted to pair them together. The BT works well and I can hear most of my audio and GPS even at higher speeds assuming I am riding the motorcycle with a windscreen. If not, it gets iffy at about 60mph. With the windscreen, I hear it all up to 100mph, at about the same volume as lowering your windows in a car with your radio at a normal volume. You'll hear it but the details start getting a bit obscured. The controls for the audio operation take a quick second to figure out. For example, there are no Siri, Google or Alexa capabilities. To raise and lower the volume is easy - toggle forward or backwards with a tone to notify you that there is nowhere left to go. The skip tracks is the same as lowering and raising volume (back or forward turn of a dial), except one needs to hold the dial for a clear second or two in order to complete the operation. To skip 5 tracks will take about a clean 10 seconds, for example. I don't make calls while driving - EVER. Answering calls is easy, tap the side button. They can't really hear you if you're driving fast, especially without a windscreen.I also purchased a couple of visor replacements for this helmet. I bought the chrome and dark black visors and mainly ride with the chrome. I have received many compliments around town simply walking around stores and having people ask about my "Iron Man" helmet using the chrome visor, stating that they had seen me riding and thought I had the coolest looking helmet they'd ever seen. Once they find out it has BT and speakers, it's on. I may as well be a rep for Torc at that point. The helmet runs 2 sizes too small in my opinion. I first ordered this according to the sizing chart and had to return it. Takes 2 days to get to me but 9 days to get back and be refunded. That was a bit aggravating. That said, I have found and reviews confirm that their chart is off by a mile despite my measurements being spot on. The foam at my "correct" size was simply too hard against my cranium. I was a large according to their chart and really needed a XXL. They don't offer an XXL in this model that I am aware of, so I ordered the XL and it's passable but still a bit tight, especially on longer drives where I find the pressure against my forehead to be a bit too much. I suspect over time the foam will conform to my head a bit. The jury is still out on that...The helmet offers really decent airflow. There are two main vents and both offer great cooling, however, the more air in means the less you hear music. I have found that installing a volume booster on my device works to overcome this. The visor remains up while driving up to certain speeds and then will close on you due to air pressing it downward. That said, if you lift the face mask entirely, it stays up and is nice to have on really hot days in FL. or when you want to go into a store for a moment and not have to deal with taking off the helmet. I prefer not to walk into any store these days with a closed helmet where nobody sees my face. That said, it is also pretty decent at keeping air out if you need that feature for colder days. There is a nose shield and a chin shield that both serve to control air from entering the helmet on cold days. That is nice. Both are made of rubber and they simply plug in or get pulled out when not in use. Easy. There are a lot of helmets out there but I have found Torc to be a brand I like and the quality of the helmet is very good. I just wished they offered more visor options. This model was discontinued and the Torc 28B is what is sold now and offered in their newest catalog. The 28B is offered in XXL.

Comfortable
I have multiple fat tire ebikes and I love this helmet. I'm a huge marvel fan so the design is perfect. The Bluetooth is great to have but to have the loudness and clarity as well was unexpected. The fit is perfect so as long as you know the measurements of your head you won't be disappointed

Overall good value, recommended.
This helmet is overall a really nice product for the price point. The fit is comfortable, the features are overall good, and the bluetooth works really well with my iphone, no problems pairing or staying paired. the venting does an excellent job of cooling on hot days also. The one less than positive is the quality of the sound produced by the in-helmet speakers. For slowly putzing around town at low speeds, the sound is tinny but acceptable for tunes or calls. On the highway however, even at full volume the speakers dont overcome the rush of the wind, all you can hear is a distant noise that produces a headache and tinnitus upon stopping. I was able to hold conversations, but had to slow down or lay on the tank to get every word. But again, for the money, this is a good value and I'm glad I bought it.

I bought for bluetooth, but fell in love with the helmet. Shocked by how good this helmet is.
I admit being skeptical before this helmet arrived. I've owned more than 30 helmets, ranging from high end japanese models to low end models from different companies. I didn't know an awful lot about Torc. I was looking for a bluetooth integrated modular helmet, and I found options limited. Now that I've received and worn this model, I'm floored by the price. This is one of the sleekest modular helmets I've ever seen. It has the aesthetics and shell profile that makes it resemble a Schuberth C3. Now I clearly understand this helmet is not a Schuberth, I was pleasantly surprise that for a plastic helmet how well it is made, and how sturdy it feels. One of my biggest complaints about affordable helmets is normally vents feel cheap. Normally cheap helmets rattle and feel flimsy and clunky. This helmet doesn't feel at all like that. All of the vents open and close snapping into position in a firm and exact way, like mid priced helmet should. I checked to see what this helmet sells for without bluetooth, and it can be found for $125. I can safely say that in my opinion, this is the nicest helmet I've seen at this price.I admit, I bought the thing because it has bluetooth, but I was shocked how nice the helmet really is. I've tried the vega summit and nolan bluetooth models and this helmet resembles more the nolan than it does the vega (even though it is priced lower than the vega).I used to own an oneal tirade bluetooth helmet, and I had a great experience with that helmet, so I gave this one a shot, since they both use the BLINC system. Although this model doesn't have the screen or fm tuner, it is louder, cleaner and I can hear phone calls much better than I could on the tirade. (Nice surprise)I was surprised how quiet this helmet is at speed. It is the lightest modular helmet I've owned, which is very surprising given the price. The most surprising feature that I fell in love with is the lever system for the drop down visor. SO many of these feel so cheap that it feels like most will break. This one doesn't have springs in it. It has a slider that is easy to find with my klim overland gloves.I liked it so much I'm tempted to buy their T14 with bluetooth. I would buy it again. The only thing I would suggest it does run big compared with my shoei. I really would recommend a medium instead of the large.
