I needed a digital scale for some training sessions with my job (restaurants). I was traveling to stores that may or may not have scales to properly follow recipes. An accurate scale is critical for ensuring consistent meals for customers across the brand. This scale was perfect. I used a 1 lb. scientific weight to ensure accuracy. The readout is very bright and easy to see. The various settings allowed for two-decimal measurement of ounces, or accurate gram measurements. The scale is well-packaged which makes it great for traveling from one location to another (or safely storing between uses). While this is not a commercial scale designed for heavy use 365 days per year, it is certainly well built and suited for either home recipe prep or occasional commercial/training use. Considering the price and speed of delivery, I could not ask for more.

Originally, I bought this kitchen scale to measure out coffee grounds in the preferred amount to brew good coffee. It works well with that, especially because you it makes it easy to use different containers to hold the coffee grounds. I already had a kitchen scale, but this one was far easier to use and far more confidence inspiring, especially working in grams and small, light portions. Subsequently, I started working with other kitchen ingredients, such as measuring portions of ground beef for making the "right size" burgers. It has also proved handy non-kitchen related tasks such as weighing mail to calculate appropriate postage. What makes it so handy is that it easily switches from grams to ounces and lbs., it can support more than enough weight for which one would normally use a scale like this, and it is small enough so one can just leave it on the counter without having to put it away after use and later have look for just to do a small task. Of course, the one problem of its being so small is that if you seek to weigh big items like large envelopes and packages, they will cover the read out window. Oh well. Nothing is perfect.
