Gem Trails of Washington

This book is very well written, with good directions to the sites. It has pictures and information about the materials to look for. It covers a lot of sites in each area. I live in SE Washington, and it has many short trips with 3 or 4 sites per trip.

Great book for rockhounding. This book not only gives you GPS coordinates of sites, but there are also detailed descriptions of how to reach each site. On top of that the books also includes a map for every site on the book.

We loved this book so much, we even bought copies for family and friends as well! In the last few years many of these spots are no longer accessible so make sure to check before going anywhere! I hope this author comes out with a new version eventually! Directions were so accurate, it was truly a lifesaver!

This is a solid book with good descriptions and a nice variety of sites. Would give it five stars if it included GPS coordinates in multiple formats.

What a gem! Pun definitely intended. I purchased this book a few weeks before my trip to WA and just wow, what a brilliant piece to have with you. My boyfriend and I were able to hound a few of the destinations listed and were pleasantly surprised with the stones we found. We even ran into someone else hounding with the SAME BOOK. It was a pretty awesome moment. All in all, I’m super happy with my find. The entries were very well written and the detail provided was exactly what we needed out there. Highly recommend!

I have used this book in several occasions to go rockhunting. Some of the mentioned spots are well known by people and have been mined pretty heavily. Other mentioned locations are less disturbed and provide a chance to find interesting specimens. So far I have used this book to find agates and quarts crystals.

Love this book! Well written. Lots of plans for future trips suggested in this book!
