Better than I thought
I got these for a winter trip to Germany where it's forecast to be fairly cold and a likelihood of rain every day. I'd read some varying reviews about the fit and how waterproof/not they are.Fit: I have a 30" waist, so I got the size 46 which is typically what I would wear in Euro size. Overall the fit was really good, the seat/hip/thigh was just right, not too roomy, but not tight and it looks nicely fitted. It has a straight leg, but you can adjust the bottom tab and cinch it tighter, which I do as it feels too loose if I dont. The inseam is about 31" so for most average height guys around 5'9 -10 it should be just right. The front rise is on the higher side which is good, and gives a really flattering silhouette when worn. All of the pockets are handy and I like the over abundance of belt loops.Fabric: lightweight but we'll have to see how it feels in cold German weather. I plan to wear an under legging so I don't think it will be any issue. I tried the waterproof test and when I poured water on it, it just beaded off and the pants stayed dry. I don't expect to be in any torrential downpours, so I imagine these will repel whatever rain hits just fine. there's nothing worse than walking around with the rain soaking your pants thighs.Overall, these actually look really cool, fit very nicely, and the fabric seems to do what it says it does. Definitely recommended, even for those who only plan to wear them in the concrete jungle.

Need more reinforcement if you are to use them outside the office...
I bought these pants for mountaineering. I really like the pockets, the material which is comfortable, and the fact that in some 18 inches of snow my feet never got wet since they served well as gators and I could tighten them below my ankle very well. But, on my first trip out with them on real mountain conditions - they did not behave as expected. I wore a long underwear liner beneath them, and they kept me warm in 10 degree Fahrenheit weather. At the end of the day, we had to slide down the side of mountain (snow) to get down quickly due to the very cold conditions which were getting worse.. We were a group of five. I followed two people on the exact same path, and I was the only one that ended up with a torn bottom! This is pretty much what the descent looked like: http://www.ocallahan.org/blog/RuapehuOnSlide.jpgAlthough the pants appear to be reinforced in the rear end area, in fact, it's just another layer of their same material, which is not the strongest. I strongly suggest that the manufacturer actually use a better material where they add their second layer (rear end and knees) and they will be hard to beat. Their price certainly warrants this change!I attach a picture of my tear. I bought some large patches, and placed them in the area of the tears. My pants should now be sturdier than when new.

Top rated in Croatia
I like these pants. Yes, they're awfully expensive, but they look really cool, fit well, and are comfortable and practical. I was turned onto Fjallraven by hikers and hunters in the mountains of Croatia, who swear by them for rugged outdoor wear. Lots of very sharp rocks in the Croatian mountains. I can't go with a five-star rating yet since I can't report on how well they will hold up, but the Croatians insist they are the only thing they'll wear for serious work in the mountains. Who am I to question a Croatian?

Vidda Pro Trousers fit well and have lots of features
I purchased the Vidda Pro trousers in anticipation of a future trip to the Faroe Islands/Iceland/Greenland. I was looking for hard-wearing, windproof, waterproof pants. I am 5-11' 185 pounds with a 34" inseam. The 52 EUR Regular fit perfectly. I have tried them out in wet weather. As described in the ad, the pants are water repellent but not waterproof. Water will bead up on the surface but it will sink through when kneeling in wet foliage. I have not yet tried to add wax as these pants are old-school wax cloths. The wax should help make them more water repellent. I have not yet had an opportunity to hike in them. They seem stiff out of the box. They loosened up a bit after I wore them to work a couple of times. I think they could bind on the knees and lower legs in warm or hot weather, but that is just my guess at this point. The pants do not have rear pockets. I miss that feature, but the front pockets are large and can hold a lot of stuff. There is also an option to purchase knee pads that can be inserted in between the double layer of fabric over the knees. At least that is my understanding. I am in interested in this feature as I intend to be spending a lot of time on my trip photographing wildlife. Overall, I am very pleased with these pants. I look forward to putting them to the real test on my future trip.

Durable and great looking
These are very durable and great looking pants. They are tight because they have a European and not baggy US cut and no stretch, so make sure you buy the right size. I'm 5'9" 178lbs and 50 fits me well (corresponding to 34 US size which I usually wear), perfect around the waist, but they are tight around the thighs and butt, as intended by the manufacturer. Some reviewers said that they are too long, but I cannot confirm that. When I wear them with hiking boots, they have the perfect length.Overall, sharp looking and exactly what I expected. I wear them with the Fjällraven insulated Greenland jacket, which is a great combo for the colder months of the year (fall/winter).

Great fit. Durable materials.
The fit and finish on these pants are exceptional. I love every part of them. I would give them 5 stars, partly because they didn’t come with a small block of Greenland wax. I made my own, because I’m a diy’er, and will be waxing them within the next week. The other part of that star is that the pants are actually not made in Sweden. In fact they are made in Vietnam. Other than these two minor glitches, i am very pleased at the fit and durability of the material.

Excellent trousers, just out of the box but the ...
Excellent trousers, just out of the box but the quality is obvious. First day package arrived, it rained heavy so tested trousers while working the dog, no leaks. They are still new so would expect a positive first wear, and wasn't disappointed. Looking forward to see how they stand up to being in the woods, but I'm not expecting any issues. waist 32 and leg fitted perfectly, though the size to order due to differing countries size scales meant ordering size 48. very pleased, and would definitely recommend.

Perfect
Absolutely perfect, they fit like they were made for me, the lace hook and the adjustable elasticated hem on the legs is inspired thinking, I wore these trousers for an extended camping trip in the Lake District, the were excellent and the ability to increase the waterproof wax layer on the move was invaluable, I liked them so much I bought a second pair.

Brilliant buy!
They are made to a high standard, lots of pockets in well thought out positions and lots of other good features. The leg length is also generous so they won’t float above your ankles if your bending your legs to climb or sit down.
