Star Wars is a story about people and these people need to be included in any game from the movie.Armada is doing a great job including the people in a realistic and useful way during game play.Han Solo and his Millennium Falcon are the most recognizable persona.Boba Fett and Dash Rendar are not unknowns.IG-88, Bossk and Dengar are the villains in this box.FFG did not just add people; these special ships have new abilities that will cause changes in game play.The ships and their pilots add a level of play producing multiple options without additional levels of complexity.This is Armada not X-wing. The scale in the two games is very different and these models are “to scale” with the existing and new Wave 2 ships for Armada.I have not found them to be any more fragile than fighter squadrons in the existing game.Overall, this is a real addition to the game and you need this expansion to really enjoy Armada.

I play both X-Wing and Armada and I'm liking the rules for Armada a bit more at the moment. The miniatures in this set are quite small, as befits the relative size of the ships. They have pretty good stats and each fulfill different roles, and are most useful for games where your ships lack the ability to control additional squadrons, due to most of them having the "Rogue" keyword. This means they can move and shoot during the squadron phase as if they had been activated by a Squadron command. But beyond this they each have one or more special abilities that can be very useful to your fleet. From Han Solo's ability to move and attack first during the ship phase to IG-88's ability to ignore escort and counter keywords on opposing ships, you'll likely find something useful here.My only real complaint is the fact that you only get one of each ship, so if what you really want are two Aggressor Assault Fighters and an IG-2000, you have to buy three packs (or trade with someone, or find them on ebay, etc).

Bought this along with some other expansion sets. I have two core sets and have been getting both rebels and imperial expansion sets. It’s expensive, but I like playing either factions. If you’re on a budget and play just one side, go half on it with a friend or an apposing player and split the contents. Great addition to the game.

Wave 2 is bringing Squadrons into the forefront. This is 8 custom squadrons, containing Han Solo, Boba Fett, IG-88, and whoreallycaresithasHanSoloinit.In actuality, it contains pretty much all of the bounty hunters from the bridge in ESB and a lot of minor characters from video games, etc (Jan Ors for example) for the Rebels. They all bring new mechanics to bear and, while costly, give squadron-heavy carrier builds a lot of extra "oomph".Also, Han Solo's ability is (literally) to shoot first, before any other ship or squadron at the start of a round. FFG gets their audience, man.4 stars only because outside of Han, a lot of the Rebel Squadrons are not particularly memorable characters.

Awesome, I don't have many extras for Armada but the tactics these add is great plus it adds extra fun to the game to play with characters I know and love from the universe. Plus it adds some uniqueness to the squadrons that may have otherwise been absent.

The individual ships are small and fragile, but with care you can easily assemble them onto their respective stands. Each ship adds to the overall experience of the main game by adding new depth .

I was excited to see not just common characters but even some from deeper within lore. The units themselves are a little shallow to use, but imagining boba-fett clashing a whole fleet of X-Wings was pretty awesome.

You get to have a Tiny Millennium Falcon. What's cooler than that? Some of these squadrons are almost necessary for a strong squadron force in the game. Overall very good models in this pack.
