Great for early, early readers
Even though this can be a bit of a tongue twister for grandma, my almost 4 year old twins loved being able to read their pages to me

Terrific Series
Love it. The parent portion has more text, and the child portion in the case of this story has a lot less for this level. However, it's also about practicing listening and attending. Nice and fun illustrations!

learing and a great story
This book is a great opportunity to read WITH your child and allows you to model for them the flow of reading. You read one page then your child reads the next page. My son learned how to read with expression after reading this with me. Hopefully after reading this book and others like it he will start to mirror the expression without me. This is my favorite of the series. LOVE THIS BOOK!

Great idea.
This is a great book if you like to read together with your kids. I needed a book where I could interact with my kids. You read the first page, and your child read the next page. And so on. The books come in different levels so choose the level that is right for you.

These books are great
These are books that you can read with your child. You read one page that carries the story and your child reads the next page that has only one word or a few words depending on the level. Illustrations are cute.

Good for beginning readers
As a special services director at a small Catholic school, I am always looking for books that give students success in reading. This series has been a favorite for myself and the teachers on staff. Works really well both at school and home.

Cute book, but marked at wrong reading level
I have bought a bunch of these We Both Read books for my 6 year old, who is about to enter 1st grade. He loves reading them with me, and I can see an improvement in his reading, and his confidence. I ordered 'The New Red Bed' because it was also marked Level 1, same as 'The Well-Mannered Monster' which is his favorite. However, this book is much easier, and should have been rated for K level. It was no challenge at all for my son, whereas all the other Level 1 books we have bought have been just right. Its still a nice story, but better for kindergarten-level readers.
