Q: does this have underwire?

It has no wire but it holds the girls in very comfortably. They are not going anywhere! No making appearances or peek a boos.

Q: Do i order by bust size or waist size? if i go by bust size i would wear a 16 w, if i go by waist size i would wear either a 24 or a 26.

I ordered by my normal size and it fits perfectly. It is really full in the hip area so there is room for error. So maybe order a size 18 to be on the safe side because the umpire waist part is a little snug.

Q: Can straps be crossed in back?

No, and the straps loosen and fall down ALOT!
