Slicky, Shiney, Cardboardy
Slicky, Shiney, Cardboardy (new words - I know) The soles are slick. Be careful for the first 100,00 miles (or, couple of days). They shine like they're patent leather. That's not necessarily a bad thing. They're leather, but cardboardy (thin and stiff). They wear better after a week.Importantly, the heals are taller than normal. Enough where you have to catch your balance because the air is thinner at that altitude. Just joking there, BUT the heals are taller. That will make your butt stand up and that also is not necessarily a bad thing in certain social circles. Your call on that one.The zipper on the right boot unzips about halfway automatically after 30 minutes, or so. Consequently, doesn't match the left zipper which is solidly in place.Oh, and I usually go with a EE width but this shoe only offered an EEE. That turned out to be a blessing. They're narrower than normal. I can only imagine what my walk would have looked like with high heels, tight width, slicky soles and half unzipped.

don’t worry; buy these boots!
i COULD mention toe box, width, and arch support, as they suggest, but let me just say this: i read waaaaay too many reviews before pulling the lever and buying these boots. but they’re florsheim boots, built on a well-earned reputation for high quality that has been around for longer than MY 67 years. i’ve worn size 10 1/2 D for fifty years or so, and it’s consistent.so are these boots.they felt great the first time i put them on, and they’ve felt great each time i’ve worn them since then. it’s winter in iowa, so they haven’t been outside yet, and the first place they’re going is to my shop to scuff up the shiny soles a bit, but beyond that, these are the beatle boots i’ve been wanting since 1964. mine will see more denim than three piece suits, cuz that’s how this old hippie rocks & rolls.but bottom line: the boots fit my feet EXACTLY as they should, they are very well constructed, and they look extremely fab and gear!

Made in India?
I bought boots similar to this style from Florsheim over 20 years ago and still have them, they are all leather not just the uppers with twice as thick of sole and no man made materials from India like these. I was so dissapointed with these I sent them back immediately. They looked like a pair of plastic shoes. I thought the color was brownish but they came with some outlandish conack color that looked crazy. So much for USA made Florsheim boots now made in India, when is this trend going to cease and make them here in America?

Florsheim is about looking good from your feet up.
I’ve never been a slave to fashion which is obvious by the clothes hanging in my closet. But some of those really cool dudes that have a twisted sense of fashion could be considered tragically hip. These boots are like a wonderful flashback of the style that was so popular during the defining decade of the sixties.Mens fashions are currently at that trendy place where the mindless sheep follow along without question.I’m glad to say that I’m not part of that flock. I feel quite comfortable in a nice tailored solid color long sleeve shirt and slim fitting denim jeans that still have a new dark coloration to them.I’ve tried this boot style from different manufacturers but none of them have the fine details or high quality leather that stands up to daily use like these Duke Boots from Florsheim.I’ve received quite a few nice compliments from people I meet about how good my Duke Boots look and the size 10.5-3E is comfortable enough to wear all day and into the evening if the situation gets real interesting.I don’t dress to please other people. It’s impossible to please all the people all the time. People should dress in a manner that makes them feel confident and comfortable. Then they have a good aura that others can sense. It works for me. Other results may vary. And the beat goes on....

Nice Looking Boot, Not Comfortable
The leather on these boots is soft and they shine up very nice for dress shoes/boots. They comfortable until you stand or walk in them. So they're uncomfortable. They really are uncomfortable. I wouldn't wear them for an everyday shoe/boot but I like them for going out to dinner or anywhere that I don't have to walk far. I bought some Dr. Scholl's ULTRACOOL Insoles and they really help. Without the Dr Scholl's insoles, I wouldn't wear these boots. I couldn't give this or any product more than 3 stars if I had buy something to make it good enough for me to use.

A nice surprise.
I carried an unresolved childhood desire for Beatle boots. These satisfied and exceeded that desire. The boots were needed for a wedding and they fit the bill. I was surprised at how well they immediately fit. I got used to the slightly-higher heel quickly. For dress or casual wear, they're very nice. I have purchased Florsheim shoes previously, and always appreciated the quality. I hope to enjoy these boots for a long time.

Six Stars - Top quality - a must for every gentleman's wardrobe
This is classic mens footwear. Nothing beats Florsheim for style and quality. This boot fits like a glove. I have wore Florsheim for years and know the exact size I need. I have been a loyal customer for almost 40 years. Nothing beats the quality of these shoes. I still have and wear my first pair.Update 2/29/16 - I have two pairs of these - one black, one brown and if I could give it 6 stars I would. Not only do they fit great (and you are the one responsible for ensuring you get the right fit, but Amazon's return policy can make sure you get that), they look great. I wasn't a big boot wearer, but I purchased a pair of very fashionable good fitting cowboy boots and liked the extra heel height and ankle support. I didn't like them for formal or church suit wear. Enter the Duke Boot.First, make sure you have your foot length and fit correctly measured, second - don't forget this boot fits the ankle and calf above the ankle. So read the review carefully. Third, when in doubt contact the seller. I have found that they are always very helpful in answering questions. They want you to have a good quality shoe just as much as you do.

Good Fit. 5 stars
I bought this for my Father-in-law. He loves cowboy boots. His smile after wearing them is unmatchable. These shoes are very similar to the ones he had earlier and they fit very well. The material and make looks very finished and very polished. So 5 Stars for that.PS. In my opinion, they may be slippery because of the sole being flat with no ridges. But I guess that’s very normal for these kind of shoes. He will have to be cautious while wearing.

A well made, stylish versatile boot!
This boot is well made and quite stylish as would be expected from Florsheim. I bought it for clubbing but it pairs well with jeans for casual wear or even business attire. Highly recommended!Beware however that had I ordered based upon the sizing chart it would have fit too big. So I ordered my normal size and its fit well.

Very narrow
The boots are listed as wide on label inside but could not put them on. Measure the width & found then to be a narrow boot.
