Hikari Algae Wafers for Pets, 0.70-Ounce

I feed pumpkin shrimp these algae tabs and they thrive and love them. They have a smell which I think helps attract them to the tablets. They immediately flock to it!

My go to brand for years. Pleco, cichlids love these. I’ve tried other brands but hands down these are the best. My Pleco begins to smell it immediately and goes and finds it. Cichlids love to eat this as well.

My ottocinclus go crazy over these wafers, and so do my snails. These are the only ones I feed the snails in particular because the miniscule amount of copper. There's nearly none in it, way at the bottom of the list. Copper is toxic to aquatic snails so it's great to have an additional food for them, and I like to break them up into small pieces to scatter around the tank since they expand and prevents food competition. (Also love how it creates nice biofilm for everyone to munch on when I keep the tank's lights on a bit extra!)

These are large wafers, great for plecos and related fish. I forgot they sell these in mini size, and have to break them up for my shrimp and snails. It sinks quickly, and as it slowly absorbs the water it expands and crumbles. I recommend removing excess wafer as it can get messy and affect tank parameters if you leave it in there too long. The occupants of my tank approve of the purchase!

My mystery snail loves these. He eats 1/2 a wafer a night. He really likes these. Highly recommend.

Nice form of algae and other high protein sources in little slow dissolving wavers. All my nano tank community come and pick at them but the cory cats just love these! I bought a small package of them to try but when those run out I'll definitely be buying the larger version. These work great!

I am a 5’2 female with very small hands. This picture still doesn’t do justice to the ridiculously small “sample” size package you get for a LARGE PRICE!! RIP OFF!!!

My otocinclus and shrimp love these, especially if medged in a slice of Courgette

Another good product by Hikari. The plecos, shrimps and algae eaters in my aquarium seem to enjoy these wafers more.

I’ve always fed my pleco’s this brand. I did try another brand once but it didn’t go over. So back to these. If you have a huge goldfish like I use to, I’d have to feed them after I put food in for the goldfish because they would gobble them up too. My pleco’s really like these and there nice and flat for their mouths. They don’t dissolve really quickly and usually the pleco has it eaten before it does. I only feed my big pleco one every other day along with some Nutrfin Max. I was told they won’t keep the algae off the tank if you feed them every day. Seems to work great they do their job and the pleco’s are pretty big from the tiny ones I started out with. The only con, the price for this brand is outrageous from when I first started buying them.
