Excellent caliper for the money!!!
Best caliper I've ever bought for this price and then some, hands down! You panty-waste talkers need to stop talking trash and RTFM. If you have a defective unit (and it happens) contact the seller or manufacturer and work it out. If you just can't read or fathom reading instructions, then send it back and keep using your thumbs, toes, arms and feet. I grew up in a shop environment and am very familiar with these types of tools. This caliper hands down is as accurate and precise as advertised. Mine in particular is highly accurate as I used my precision blocks (which are perfect btw) and could NOT find a single flaw or off measurement. As GadgetClass and David Andrews amongst others have noted, I also tested "numerous" items top to bottom in the jaw and the accuracy is stunningly accurate! At this price you can't buy another brand caliper this accurate for the money anywhere I know of. I had a small box of 6" calipers (some more expensive than this one) that I just tossed out because this iGaging caliper is that good! I will certainly be buying more iGaging brand items if this is any indication of the quality and craftsmanship they offer. Unless you work for NASA and the like, this caliper will accurately measure anything you need it too. And I'd bet NASA has a good number of projects this will suit just perfectly fine as well. Mine goes back to "0" "EVERY" TIME! I don't have to slam it or repeatedly go back and forth to get it too zero out. The locking thumb screw is a plus and holds the precise measurement in place very well. The fit and finish are top shelf! Depth gauge is just as accurate along with the perfectly machined depth gauge base. If you can read and understand what you have here and how to use it, you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended for home and business shops. The perfect all-around caliper for high quality general precision work. As Mikey said, "Try it! You'll like it!" ;-) Move over Mitutoyo!!! There's a new kid on the block, ...and he's giving you some stiff competition for the money!

Absolute Origin Digital Caliper is an Absolute bargain!
I purchased this item thinking it would not be as good a quality as the product description said but I was wrong. The thing was well packaged and functions exactly as described. The plastic case is relatively sturdy and I expect it will protect it just fine. I have used it several times and checked it against other instrument readings and it is always dead on. I have only had it a few days, so not a lot of use yet, but I am very happy with it. For the price, I think it is a great tool. It is easy to hold, easy to use, easy to read, easy to zero. All of that is fine as long as the accuracy is there and it certainly seems to be there. It came with an extra battery which was a nice plus. I can't image it using a lot of power so I think one battery should last almost forever! BUT, when it goes out, I have a replacement (if it will still be good months down the road!). If it uses batteries faster than that, then I may have to amend this review. So, mark me down as very satisfied and pleased.

Great calipers. Get the absolute origin feature
I have been very been very happy with mine. I have 3 iGaging calipers that I keep in different places. The last model I got will show the measurement in fractions/decimal inches or decimal mm which I do like. If I were you I would get the version that does all 3. Definitely get the model that has absolute origin - all of mine do so I've never tried a caliper that doesn't but I would think that would be very annoying to have to zero it out each time. My buddy runs a high end calibration business (high end like he measures calibration of tools for a nuclear lab and a semiconductor company) and I brought them over to his calibration room and they were extremely accurate. He was impressed I was super happy. He had a Fowler caliper and Mitutoyo and as I recall the Mitutoyo bested the iGaging accuracy by some completely insignificant (for me and 99.99% of people) amount on one measure and the iGaging was exactly the same on several others. I bought the iGaging thinking this would be my cheap set that I would mostly use around the shop and that I would get a Mitutoyo as my precision set but after seeing the results I decided I had better things to spend $450 on so I never did buy a more expensive caliper. When you get down to that small of difference you are better to invest in some kind of way to take dust particles off the jaws (seriously - my friend did one measure and it was off a little more than it had been in another measure so he cleaned the jaws and bingo - it hit dead on). I wish they had an auto off feature. None of mine do. I can't tell if they have added this feature on the ones they are selling now. If they don't keep an extra battery at all times because you'll no doubt leave it on at some point and come back to a dead battery.

The most-used tool on my workbench
This is by farm the most-used tool on my workbench. I keep it next to my pencil and notebook and I have used it to measure, fit, and reverse-engineer all sorts of things (toys, electronics, 3d printed parts, replacement parts, etc.). I am definitely getting my money's worth out of it and it is 10x better than a ruler (I have those, too). The absolute origin feature is also great. This means I don't need to zero the caliper each time I use it. I did have to reset my absolute origin when I took it out of the box for the first time, but it has since stayed at true zero even after hundreds of measurements. I am docking one star because, in spite of its usefulness and accuracy, the caliper is not very precise. This is a big deal for a measuring tool! As you may recall from accuracy vs. precision, accuracy is hitting the bullseye, while precision is hitting the same spot consistently. I have trouble replicating measurements with this caliper depending on how I hold the part, how I hold the caliper, whether I close the probes using the gear or by sliding the probes, whether I use the tips or the inside of the probes, etc! The tool is rated accurate within .02mm but I often have variance of approximately +/-.1mm when performing repeated measurements, which seems to be caused by flexibility / tolerance between the probe and the slide, or flexibility of the metal itself. In spite of this I have still got a lot of use out of it, and overall measurement accuracy is pretty good (when measuring and printing or cutting parts to fit, for example, they fit). For the price and utility, though, this caliper has -- hands-down -- been the most worthwhile purchase for my workbench. I would buy it again in a heartbeat, though if I were doing serious work with this I would invest in one that is more precise. A quick note about USB: This caliper has a USB feature. I did not buy this caliper for the USB feature, but I noticed later that the USB connector cable (sold separately) is over $100! Bear that in mind if the USB feature is important to you.

Extremely Accurate, Solid Build, and Perfect for 3D Printing Work
The iGAGING Absolute Origin 0–6" Digital Caliper has quickly become one of my most reliable tools. The accuracy is spot‑on, and the measurements stay consistent thanks to the absolute origin feature — no constant zeroing like cheaper calipers. The stainless steel construction feels sturdy and smooth, and the slide action is precise without any wobble. The IP54 rating is a nice bonus, keeping dust and splashes from interfering with the electronics. I also love the SPC/USB output port, which makes it easy to log measurements directly into software when I’m working on detailed projects. Switching between inch, metric, and fractional modes is quick and intuitive. For anyone doing 3D printing, woodworking, machining, or detailed hobby work, this caliper is a fantastic upgrade. It’s accurate, durable, and feels like a professional‑grade tool at a great price. Now I just need to learn how to use my CAD software to be able to create more projects for me to 3D print. Made a few projects and this Caliper really helped making project simpler. And everything fit perfect because of the accurate measurements.

Incredibly Accurate
This is a very nice set of calipers. I went with the 6 inch ones. They are made out of nice stainless steel and feel plenty durable. I used to have a cheap pair of plastic ones, but they broke so i wanted to get something that wouldn't break the bank, but higher quality than the ones i owned before. The main thing i want to share is just how accurate these Calipers are. I was trying to think of what to test them on, then i remembered that i have a pair of accurate 1, 2, 3 Blocks and decided to use them to test the accuracy of the calipers. As you can see from the pictures, they read 1.0000 on the 1-Inch side, 2.0000 on the 2-Inch side and 3.0005 on the 3-Inch side. So they are more than accurate enough for most tasks. There isn't really much more to say about them.

Finally! An accurate digital set of calipers at a good price.
What a search it has been, phew! I finally found a DIGITAL set of calipers at a reasonable price. The number of FAKE Mitutoyo calipers flooding Amazon and Ebay and FB Marketplace is dizzying and alarming. I found genuine Mitutoyos for $107 + shipping $15 but these were much less. So, why buy M when my need to measure is not scientific? I use these for DIY, jewelry, and fixing watches, sewing machines when I have to measure replacement parts. I love that I can switch from mm to decimal inches to fraction inches easily. Zero out at origin. There is also a stand you can set this upright, to lower the depth gauge and measure below the base. Very cool feature - check the sliding rod at the back. That is for depth gauge measuring. Comes in a nice box with new battery. Very very happy with this. My Nerdy neighbor has one too, and he recommended it. Buy with confidence.

Great Caliper for the price!
This is way nicer than my cheap chinesium "performance tools" digital electronic caliper from O'Reilly's autoparts store. Those calipers seems to be generic with whomever company name is branded on it. The iGaging by far has a better fit and finish and glides super smoothly vs the other caliper, which stutters as it slides. The package contents were much better too. Performance Tool re-branded had just instructions and batteries. And the tool would bounce around in the case as it is loosely fit in there. The absolute origin w/fractiosn is held down nicely, with plenty of cushion to keep it from being knocked around. It came well bagged, with oil and paper wrapped around it to keep it from rusting. You're also greeted with a certificate of authenticity, and signed paperwork by whomever the factory worker was for calibration! And its *hand* signed. Very accurate, no wavering. Numbers are big and clear, and its easy to dial into thousandth of a mm (i couldnt do that with thte other tool as it was too stiff, so sometimes i would overshoot it). My only one minor gripe is that the lower lip of the caliper that is attached to the digital scale is somewhat magnetized. I dunno if this is a issue with digital calipers as my other one is magnetized too. I'll eventually demagnetize it but dunno if it will come back cuz i demagnetized my other caliper only to have it get magnetized again. Overall I am very happy with this device. Sadly i would have gotten a mitutoyo, but the amount of knockoffs everywhere kind of pushed me to pick this up. Glad i did. I own a few other iGaging products and they've all been awesome.
