Beware - American book with some poor table manners
In general, this is a good book for ages 9 and up. However, if you're British and buying this book, be aware that this is a book intended for the US market and so the chapter on table manners leaves a bit to be desired. A Briton using this book as a guide to eat would be taught some manners that would seem odd to other Britons. In Britain, we do not place the knife down after cutting and transfer the fork from the left to the right hand as this book advises. In fact, this isn't even proper table manners in the US: good mannered Americans eat as we do, with the knife held in the right hand and the fork held in the left. The advice in this book merely illustrates the common way in which people in the US eat.

a kids review....
My friend lent me this book, I thought it was ok but for american girl it was a bit disappointing. It only covers topics briefly and not much detail.
