Vermont LanternsHanging Oil Lamp - Brass Dorset 14" w/Shade (Pewter)

I had previously purchased 2 hurricane lanterns from Vermont lanterns, I was so impressed with the quality and the warm glow they put off I decided I needed 2 Dorset's for my backyard to hang from my shed. I do need to get better at checking websites before ordering from Amazon though, amazon prices always higher than these sellers websites. The Dorsets are cheaper on their website and free shipping for anyone looking to save a few bucks.About these Dorsets, they smaller than I thought they would be but im actually very happy that they are. Extremely well built, solid brass and heavy, the chimney is thick material as well.

Attractive lamps, they give enough light. Expensive but not as much as other similar lamps I've seen. Not easy to light and they are smaller than they look online.

works like a champ hanging from a chain from the ceiling in a corner of the breakfast room to remind me of my sailing days. adjusts correctly and fuel lasts a long time on one filling. Like it.

The lantern is somewhat smaller than we expected, perhaps have some more detailed dimensions. Other than that is excellent, very well packed and wonderful quality. Purchased in and shipped to Australia without any breakages great job.

The light is well made. The light looks great over our kitchen island in our country house.. Parts all fit, threaded parts tighten, the wick adjusts easily. A tank of fuel last a long time and the flame has a steady burn.

Prior to ordering I used a yard stick to visualize the dimensions of the lamp, so it was exactly the size I thought it would be and fits my location perfectly. Assembly and fueling was straightforward. Lighting was as easy as any oil lamp I’ve ever used. Surprised at how much light the smallish wick puts out. The lamp seems well built and is of good quality materials and a good value for the price.

I am a guy so I am not going to say I love it but I am very please with it. The seller was very quick to ship and it was package well. We built a 16' by 20' by 14' high shelter with post and beam construction. We wanted something rustic and functional. Went with a rope and pulley system to raise and lower lamp. Went with a 12" metal cable between rope and lantern for safety so not to burn through rope.A very nice touch was that Vermont Lanterns includes extras wicks.

Adorable but tiny in scale on the wall. Check the size to make sure it's big enough for your space.
