Sax Sketch and Draw Board, 12 x 18 Inches, Brown - 460973

This board is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a drawing board with no handle or clips, and this is absolutely perfect. It is very sturdy, and almost twice as thick as some of my other drawing boards I got from an art supply retailer, which was a nice surprise. I am a semiprofessional artist and have quite a few similar boards lying around, which I use for drawing, backing on my easels, rigid portfolio inserts, and all sorts of other things, but this one has become my favorite. I will be ordering more, as well as the larger size.I saw another review claiming it was useless because it could be easily damaged by moisture, but that is just the nature of Masonite. You are not buying hardwood here. For those who don't know, Masonite is what those brown clipboards you see in every office in America are made of. And this is a very fine example of it. If you happen to be looking for something you can get wet, you really should go find a plastic cutting board or a piece of real wood or something else of that nature. But it is not fair to blame this product because you cannot use it outside its intended use.Besides, even though this type of material isn't made to resist moisture, I've gotten mine a bit wet from time to time with no major damage. I exercised common sense and wiped up the moisture right away, and it dried nicely. Just don't dunk it in your kitchen sink and it will hold up just fine.

This board seems to be very good quality and mine arrived in perfect condition.I bought it to tape my watercolor paper to, for wet on wet techniques. I tried it out doubtful that it might warp, but it held up great. I also used it to sandwich my moist watercolor paper for flattening and, again, it looks the same.I love that it does not have clips or anything to get in the way.It had a very strong smell when it first arrive that might be a problem for someone who is sensitive to chemicals leaching off of glues, like myself. So I left it out in the sun for a few days. When it was not sunning I kept it sealed in its bubble wrap envelope. Now the smell has dissipated, a lot!, and is much more bearable for me.I'm going to buy another 2. :)

Good, simple, smooth, sturdy backing-board to use as a writing/drawing surface. Mine came with a dented corner, but I kept it instead of returned it. 12x18 is a perfect size (you want one larger than whatever paper you are using) and fits in my messenger satchel/laptop bag.

If you're looking for a board that can perfectly accommodate a 11x17 page look no further. This thing is twice as thick as a regular art board and doesnt have any handle cutouts or clips to get in the way. Its just one giant slab of masonite board. As an illustrator its perfect for the type of work I will be doing. Mainly pencils and ink. Its cheap too! I recommend keeping your work in place with set of binder clips. I dont knownwhat else to say, its dirt cheap, and sturdy. Highly recommended!

Exactly as described. I use this board to bullet journal at times when a table/desk is not around. It’s sturdy. I like the large size because I can easily lay many items on it (my journal plus markers, pencils, erasers, phone) and I still have room plenty of room to do my work. I’ve been looking for this exact item for a while and this seller was the only one to sell this type of product.

I wanted a light weight drawing board with no cut out handle and no built in clips. Simple as dirt, but try to find it. I didn't want to go with plywood due to the weight.Then I found this, as well as the larger one. For the price they have them, I was able to get both, and I'm very happy. They're made out of the same smooth material as a clipboard - masonite? Not sure what it's called - but it's about twice as thick and has square edges rather than rounded.Works great, nice & sturdy without being heavy, dirt cheap, and exactly what I was looking for.

This board arrived quickly for which I am grateful. However, one of the corners of the board is damaged, as if it were dropped during or prior to shipment. This is disappointing but I admit it isn’t likely to interfere with using the board for my planned drawing and watercolor projects. It’s thick and sturdy, solid for what I hope will be years of use!

I was so disappointed in this when I opened it up. It is a thin panel of Masonite and the price is crazy for what it is. It is next to useless because it is so thin, it flexes. Plus there was a dent in it along the edge. The dent doesn't hurt anything but it really confirmed my low opinion of it. Lesson learned. If you want a drawing board go to a lumber yard or Lowes and buy yourself a panel of wood and it will probably cost you a fraction of what this cost me.
