Very little to leave you disappointed in this turntable
This turntable is everything you need in a mid range plug and play deck. Easy to set up, pre fitted with a 2M Red cartridge, the direct drive motor is quiet and extremely stable as you would expect from technics. Looks very contemporary and will fit in discreetly in any home space. Overall build quality is solid and befitting of a turntable at this price point. I cannot comment on the sound quality from the built in phono stage as I am using an outboard Alva Duo but the output signal is solid

Excellent Turntable
I bought this to replace my very old Technics Belt Driven Turntable, I was not disappointed. It has the excellent quality you'd expect from Technics. It's also very solid at 10kg. I needed the built in pre-amp but you can bypass this if necessary. I push this through a Marantz amp and Q-Acoustic speakers. Whether I listen to Dark Side of the Moon, Tubular Bells, or Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony the sound is exquisite. Highly recommended.

It might be expensive but . . . . .
you do get what you pay for. It's a no frills direct drive turntable, nicely engineered, flexible in use (including the built in phono pre-amp if you need it) where all the money has been invested where it matters.

Best turntable under £1000 - hands down.
For the current price, you would be extremely hard pushed to find a better turntable. Rock solid as one would expect from Technics and yet supremely musical, with tight bass and very good soundstage. As someone who had been spinning records for over twenty years using mid-range consumer tables (the £3-400 ones), this showed me a glimpse of what can be achieved by a truly gifted deck. Had it for just over a year and now itching for an upgrade to its bigger brother (1300G). Well done Technics .
