Dorman 902-5137 Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Assembly Compatible with Select Lexus Models

After experiencing coolant system issues with my '12 Lexus is250 and the amount of miles on it... this was one part I decided to replace along with cap, and nee coolant. Fits and works well!

So I ordered this because it verified that it fit my 2016 Lexus RC200t? But it does not fit my car it's for another lexus not the RC. The RC 200t 2016 is more of an "L" shape 90 degree angle is what the Lexus RC 200t thermostat housing should look like, but this one is like a 140 degree angle. So you need a 90 angle thermostat housing for a 2016 Lexus RC200t.

BUY OEM This thermostat was stuck open, and did not allow the engine to come to the correct Temp.I thought that the engine temp was running at a lower level than normal. I replaced my Water Pump, Hoses, Fluid, and all of the coolant parts.The car ran OK in the summer until the leaky pump decided to swap the goods.It is a NEW to ME car, but a low-mile Lexus IS250.After hooking up my scanner and discovering the car is running at 70C, I have to say the only thing that would make the system run cold, is the thermostat stuck open.Spend More money on this part.A Thermostat would be SIMPLE part to build.But apparently, Dorman Disagrees with my expectations.Good Luck!

This thermostat did not keep my Lexus IS 350 at operating temperature. There would be a noticeable drop in coolant temp at highway speeds. I switched to an OEM thermostat and it works perfect. My recommendation: save yourself the hassle and buy OEM for a few dollars more.

Looks like a duplicate of the part I took off the car. We'll see how the actual thermostat holds up, but so far, it's a great value.Bout it March 2023, have to replace it, August 2024. It's not the easiest or cheapest thing, so more than annoying.
