SunBuddy - Back & Body Lotion Applicator

I got tattoos on my back that required me to put Aquaphor on daily. Needless to say, it was extremely difficult to apply this lotion (I used a wooden spoon for a few days). I found SunBuddy and it did the trick. In the beginning it is very awkward to use (I was trying to get specific spots on my back and used a mirror as reference), but eventually you get used to it. It will be easier to use it during the summer time as you don't have to be as accurate and can go by feel. The angled and extending arm are extremely useful. It also comes with an extra pad and pouch. The latter was great for me as it prevented getting lotion all over my stuff when I had to pack it for trips. The only problem that I had with it was due to the lotion I used - Aquaphor, which is 40% petroleum jelly. I was basically "bulldozing" the lotion across my back which would cause it to get clumps of Aquaphor on the leading edge of the applicator. The key is to use lotion lightly and sparingly, and patiently applying it. Overall, I strongly recommend especially as it's only $25 and saved the day for me. Will definitely use down at the beach and at the pool instead of aerosol sprays that spray all over the place.

It works great. It's compact. It came with one extra sponge if you didn't already order spares. HOWEVER, my first time using it, the sponge and it's plastic frame popped off and became a temporary cat toy. It's a great product, just don't scratch your back with it or become too vigorous. I will keep it and continue to use it, as it has more benefits than issues.

I was very happy with my Sun Buddy and it's ability to reach places on my back that I could not reach. Being diagnosed with a melanoma, it is vital that I use sunscreen every day on any exposed skin. The Sun Buddy was able to reach every part of my back easily. Unfortunately, it broke at the hinge. I was so disappointed and didn't want to spend yet another $25 on one since it was pretty new, so I wrote to the company asking them to replace it. I received a gracious return email in a very timely fashion, informing me they would be sending a replacement out immediately. I am so happy and very impressed with the company for standing behind their product. The product would have rated five stars on its own but the people behind the product put them over the top! I would highly recommend the Sun Buddy!

Save your money. This product fails to deliver anything remotely close to resembling a quality product. It's a great idea, sadly, ZeroEdge, Inc. just can't deliver. Using the product for the first time, im thinking "this is really cool! A bit lightweight and flimsy feeling but for the coin, it does the job". The next day I used it, and the head/pad assembly comes off. I put it back on, finish applying my sunscreen, great! The next day, I tried using it again and the head/pad keeps falling off... over and over again. Bottom line, it's made of cheep plastic. If anyone posts anything other than a poor review of this product they're doing all of us a huge disservice.- Cali

I want to warn people with sensitive skin or eczema like me that the soft pad on the applicator might cause allergic reactions despite the claid that the pad is hypo-allergenic. The first time I used the applicator, I had a terrible itchy rash on my back. I thought it was because I didn't wash the pad before using. I washed it thoroughly and applied the lotion the second time. I got the same terrible itch and redness on my back again. The company needs to do more research and find a better pad to include people with allergic skins. It is well-made and compact and I'm sure it's going to withstand a long use. But the soft pad is a big problem for me. And because of the design of the pad, it can't be replaced by other cotton pads of my choice but the replacement pads from the same manufacturer.I didn't return it. I thought I could give it to a friend who doesn't have allergic skin. It is, after all, a good design and well executed product. Sorry I have to give it two stars. But if the product claims to be hypo-allergenic, then I would expect it to live up to the promise.

Applicator was great until it broke in use, could be a little bit more durable.

I bought my first sun buddy years ago looking for just the right tool to apply back lotion every day. Found this and have raved about it every since! I take it with me every trip I go on. Daily use. It’s STURDY. You can actually apply pressure when using even though you may think it might give at the hinge it does not. I actually wore out my first one after many years and have purchased a new one. Same great quality - was happy they have not changed it. The little pads last about 6 months with daily use. I keep a few on hand. One of my favorite products ever. Hope they always make as I’ve not seen anything else to compare! Don’t hesitate. 5 plus stars for me!

I had hip problems and I was in so much pain I could not bend over to put lotion on my legs or feet. I purchased this about a year ago, and I am still using it almost every day. I live alone and it was so easy for me to use. The pads are great as they do not absorb any of the lotions, and they are so helpful to spread the lotion into the skin. I just rinse it off after I use it and air dry. I have used only a few pads as they last so long.
