Good book
Useful book, well laid out facts and figures. Would point out more geared towards dairy.

A great reference book. Highly Recommended!
I have had this guide for just over a week now, and just about finished reading it. The content is very good and the pages are laid out very well which allows me to pick out vital bits of information, very easily.Something that surprised me, on receiving this book was the fact that it is not "Paperback" as Amazon suggests, however it has a good quality plastic cover, that supports the pages well. The pages are 'wiro' bound which, alongside the 'half Canadian'plastic cover, allows the book to be opened flat and pages to be read easily. The orientation of this book is in landscape which, at first may seem strange, but when you flick through the book, you will see how much of the content suits it. All of the pages are top quality, made from heavy gloss paper that feel very strong. This is essential as the book is ring bound, to prevent any pages coming loose.I was particularly impressed by some of the figures, contained within this book. It has been so hard to find any modern information, for calf rearing, as most books on the subject were published decades ago.Figure tables covering growth rates, feed requirements, housing requirements are laid out really well and focus on the important information. This book also highlights most of the important anatomy of the calf to help understand how the body works. This will be very valuable in understanding any health issues that may arise for someone with little experience. This book is very useful for anyone who needs a bit of guidance in the calf rearing pens. It also provides average growth weights etc that can be compared with your own results, to see how you are preforming. This book is also very appealing to anyone looking to start rearing their own calves on smallholdings or equally anyone who has an interest in livestock.I love this book and it will forever stay in the farm office as a great reference book.
