Skip Hop Forget Me Not - Lunch Kit - Starry Sky (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

I wanted so badly for this lunch box to work. My 3 was excited for lunch when she saw it, it was easy to open, didn’t take a lot of space in the dishwasher (top rack) and was the right size.After 3 weeks and 1 day of use, however, a piece of plastic (no visible cracks this morning) broke off the lid and into my daughter’s lunch.Needless to say, I will not be purchasing a second because the risk of my daughter choking or, worse, swallowing a sharp plastic shard in her food is unacceptable and, as I see this has happened before in other reviews, I am appalled that skip hop hasn’t upgraded to a shatterproof plastic like Rubbermaid uses, or even the non-acrylic shatterproof used i. The bottom half.Extremely unsafe and utterly disappointing considering how much money we’ve spend on this brand.

My daughter eats lunch at pre-school 3 days a week. She started September 3rd. By September 27th this lunchbox was cracked in 2 places, one of the flip tabs had broken off, and the small plastic dowel that the tab clips to broke off and was found chilling in my daughter's food. We don't own a dishwasher and generally handle our things gently. Now my daughter's sad that I threw out her monkey lunchbox and I can't even get a replacement because the product is not defective - it's actually unsafe and poorly made.At best, this is not worth $10. At worst, random shards of plastic could cause intestinal damage. Reading the other reviews, apparently this has been an issue for years. Get your act together, Skip Hop.

I have spent a lot of money on these lunch boxes for my 3 year old. And trust me every month i was buying either 1 or 2 new, as there are not too many cute options available. The problem is the latch to lock the box are not strong enough and it breaks very quickly. I kept on buying these thinking it might be my son, it might be his teachers in day care who are mishandling it. But i guess i have spent a lot of money to finally admit the quality of the groves holding the latch is pretty bad. Don't buy this, buy something else which could provide value to your money.

Purchased this for my oldest when she started Pre-k. It was very cute in person. Unfortunately, it’s not very practical. It didn’t seal very well or stay closed. It frequently opened in her lunchbox, spilling the contents of her snack. She wasn’t rough with it at all. The latches broke off one day at school.

This is the cutest lunch box for my almost 2 year old. It holds a great amount of food! I personally haven't tried microwaving it, so I can't give a review on that. His teachers do not microwave plastic either. My only con for this product is that the little box inside could be a tad larger. I am finding it difficult to find things to place in it. I would have to cut small. I've tried grapes and I can only fit about 5 large green grapes. That is my only con but I recommend this little box.

Sigh. I was hoping the reviews were wrong about the latches breaking, but they’re not. We’ve been using this once a week for about 3 months and yesterday one of the latches broke. It’s soooooo cute but not worth the price if it’s going to break after about 2 weeks of use. I’m surprised that skip hop hasn’t done something to correct the issue.

I really liked this at first sight, but the one of the clips on the lid snapped off within the first month of usage.

My preschooler gets a packed lunch every day and he LOVES eating his lunch out of his "Monkey Box" . Perfectly fits a sandwich or small bento style lunch, with an additional removeable container that is a great size for an extra side. Fits right next to the sandwich.

We bought the backpack (great so far), lunch bag (the same) and this as a matching set for when our son started preschool. We’ve had this less than two months and one of the clips has gone whilst I was gently closing it. Only used 3 days a week so probably 25 times in total. Simply not acceptable and will be looking to claim refund or replacement as clearly not fit for purpose in its build quality. A real shame as the look, and design with the little extra box is perfect for our little man.

The lathes are too weak and it barely stays shut after only two weeks of use.It’s cute, the right size and my son likes the design.That said, if it doesn’t stay closed it’s not very useful.

Very disappointed with this lunch box, not the quality I expect from Skip hop. The lid was broken once it fell over! Should’ve been made out of stronger material as it is designed for kids!

Lid material too brittle, cracks in many places. Hinge falls apart. Breaks too quickly for an expensive lunchbox.

My son loved this lunch box and I was impressed with how durable it seemed but after a while the yellow banana locks have started to come off and the lid has now cracked.
