beautiful plant will take over your tank fast, share cuttings with friends
When I first received this plant, it looked like it had died from being in the mail, and it basically baked in the mailbox. But it actually came back to life and took off like a weed, and now I have it everywhere, and I often use it to cycle a tank. When I don't have other aquarium plants available, this plant is prolific and beautiful at the same time. But just be prepared for it to take over everything that you have, and every tank that you have. So if you have a lot of friends that have aquariums, you'll have lots of this to share.

Thought it would grow, it mostly didn't
Hornwort update: I trimmed the very tops of the stems and floated them for a week or two and now I have maybe 3 or 4 living stems that are still tiny but growing. The whole rest of the plant is dead, shed all the needles into the tank and is melting and making a mess. Other plants seem to be doing okay so far.-------Right up top, I think 4 stars for live plants on Amazon is a good expectation. I purchased 3 different plants in one order from this seller, so I'm going to copy the same review to each item. I'll try to update as things grow in.I ordered Hornwort, Java Moss, and Crypt Parva for a new mini shrimp jar. I placed my order on a Saturday evening and I did choose to pay for faster shipping to ensure they had the best chance. To my surprise, the order was filled and shipped Sunday morning. I just received them Wednesday morning and planted everything. It was in a box with a bubblewrap bag with the plants inside. Everything was intact.I received a tissue culture of something for free with my order, not sure what it is yet. Looks green and healthy, we'll see - I sometimes have bad luck with tissues. The hornwort I'm giving 4 stars. It feels strong, but bristly and it's browner than I would hope. Kind of a messy bundle, but it's okay for me because I chopped it into pretty short stems anyways. I expect the color to improve over time, maybe with some trimming and replanting. The java moss also gets 4 stars. It's java moss. Maybe the clump of moss seemed a little small... but again this was a situation where I really didn't need very much, so it worked out. It looks and feels healthy, and it will grow. The crypt parva gets 5 stars. Looked just as good, if not better, than a plant in a bag would look if I drove to my LFS and bought one. Big and healthy and easy to split into smaller pieces. I was worried the crown might be mushy but it's awesome.Overall, my experience is better than I expected. I'll try to update in a few weeks once things settle in, but based on how they look and feel, it would likely be my fault if they died.

More than I expected,
Whoa, a lot more than I was expecting! It looked a bit sad and brown while in the package, but once it was in the water and unbound, it did great. I'd advise you rinse them or soak them a little before adding them to your tank; it had a lot of shed needles in the package that snowed into my tank and some soil was still on the plants that I didn't take into account. It's been healthy so far as a floating plant. The fry love to hide in it and it is more than enough to cover my 20 gallon tank.

Smelly and very dead.
Had this stench? Like poo, not even my cat wanted anything to do with it. So far not many needles shed and it’s holding up okay but again I got it an hour ago. Hornwort is notoriously hard to keep so if it dies i’m assuming it’s not on them. It’s also really hot where I live right now so I will blame the stench on the heat. Really not that impressed but it was cheap and that’s what you get. A nice deep green, not super bright but will perk up over time. Big hearty bunches. Would give it a 5 but my whole house smells like manure lol…Update: Dead not even a day later. literally melted into my substrate.

Nice, healthy bunch of Hornwort!
Generous bunch for a low price, possibly the lowest price on Amazon with free Prime shipping. Came much faster than the estimated delivery date. Arrived well packaged, alive and healthy. Had some shedding but the Coontail variety is so lush it didn't show at all. This is a fast grower and can be used as a floating or potted plant so it doesn't need big roots to do well. I secured mine in a mini flower pot with a twist tie. This is a hardy species that can do well without much light so it's a great choice for any aquarium. I'm very happy with my purchase! Thanks!

The jury is still out (updated)
Plants came in a bundle. Package had sealed in moisture, but most of the plant was brown and losing bristles. Package came USPS so not sure how long it was in not ideal temperatures. Enough was still green that I think I can still use it. Hoping it comes back strong.(Updated after a month of growing)My little green branch has grown a bunch and is ready for trimming! The pregnant fish like to hide in it and the others enjoy looking for leftover food.I even added some to my goldfish tank and it seems to be doing well.

Buying during summer heat - not advisable
Most of the plant came in poor condition - brown and dead. Only one “branch” was green and seems to be doing fine just floating around in the aquarium - apparently that is totally fine and thumbs up for ease of use. To be totally fair, I ordered it during summer heat, so this could potentially have something to do. No snail eggs observed. Sad that only small portion of the bunch was usable. Waiting to see if it actually grows as fast as everyone said so it can compensate for the rest of the plant that didn’t make it.

A special pest surprise
So when I got these I immediately discovered something in the packing that was absolutely disgusting. Some sort of big nasty looking legless insect or what was likely some sort of pupae or cocoon. Judging by other reviews I'm guessing this was a dragonfly larvae or something which is not something I want in my aquarium with my snails. The plants themselves seemed a mix of yellow and brown (dying), though with a few really nice green pieces so not 100% bad, though a big gamble on whether or not there are any more pests on them.
