very labor-intensive, but they work perfectly on travertine
I used these to polish the edges of some travertine tile that I had installed up my wall as a baseboard. It was a lot of work, but these work extremely well. Starting with a dull, rough-cut edge on the travertine, after going through each grit up to the finest grit, edge of my travertine was as shiny as the face of the tiles. I'm completely satisfied.
