When I first got this mat, I was blown away by the gorgeous design and thick foot-feel. Excited to get moving on my yoga adventure, and following Gaiam's recommendation, I put the mat out to air for 24 hours upon receiving it. All good.I had also read on Gaiam's site that washing it with soap was recommended to make it stickier and to really get any residual chems off, so I put the whole mat in the tub and scrubbed it down using mild dish soap and lots of water. All great....until I noticed that after an hour in 100º dry desert heat today, a bunch of foam was coming out of middle and edges. So, I rinsed it again. And again. More foam kept coming out everywhere on the mat, and it was NOT drying at all, even after two more hours. What the heck?ONLY THEN, I decided to Google this situation and guess what? Apparently, you're never, ever supposed to submerge open-cell PVC like this because they are basically big, toxic sponges and may never dry, even after days. No where does Gaiam say 1) that it's open-cell, or 2) never to wash it with soap and water because it won't dry. Side info: every site I was on also said PVC mats were toxic no matter what the manufacturers said.Talked to Amazon and they did do a 25% return, but I had to ditch the soggy mat. Expensive, messy lesson.The solution? I'm getting a TPE (the X Mat) from Manduka instead. Twice the price, but it's closed-cell, washes great, and most importantly, it's made with NO PVC, no phalates and nothing to wash off or air out. TPE is the soft, rubbery material that they use on toothbrush grips and children's sippy cups, so it's food grade.Hope this helps someone avoid this mess of wasted time and money!

Great Gaiam quality—nice sticky yoga mat, works well. My old Gaiam 3 mm mat was ages old so I replaced it with this. My knees appreciate the 6 mm thickness during poses. I expect this to last as long as my old mat!

I’m very happy with my yoga mat. I ordered the metallic sunset and the color is beautiful! I also love the design. I rolled it out first and put a couple shoe boxes on each end to flatten it. There wasn’t too much of a scent to the mat, but it helps to lay it out overnight if you’re sensitive to the smell.I’m able to roll it up and lay it out without it curling at the ends. I believe the shoe boxes helped when I first got it. Overall, I love the mat and it’s the perfect size, length and thickness to use at home.

Gaiam doesn't disappoint. This yoga mat arrived just as expected, it's thick and has just enough cushion to use on any hard surface. The design is very cute as well. Shipping was super fast as usual.

Nice design I don’t like that it came with no carry strap, for some reason I thought it did but not a big deal I guess. It does have a slight odor, I have used it twice I did not slip which I like. My old mat use to move a lot but my old mat was much thicker this mat says 6mm but it’s feels thin my knees still hurt. Overall I gave it 4 stars the price the design the non slip grip so far makes it worth the money

This is the perfect yoga mat! It’s a decent thickness which is what I was most worried about!! Pretty long in length as well. I am really enjoying it so far!

The quality was better than I expected. It is raslto carry about since it itnlught weigh. I like thr colour and design. It's quite comfortable, wit a soft kind of material which is also stretchable.

This mat is more supportive and comfortable for me than the thicker, less dense mat I used to use.
