Smoothe, Medium Roast Coffee
This coffee comes in a very brightly coloured, orange, foil bag, that has a one-way valve. When sealing the bag up, this valve enables you to squeeze any air out of the bag to help keep the coffee inside fresh. This is a good idea, it’s just a shamer there is no reusable seal on the bag once you’ve cut the top off.I used this with my Nespresso machine, as I have a reusable capsule. So, I dunked that into the coffee and scraped off any excess. I set the machine to dispense a larger cup and activated it.The result was a nice, smooth cup of coffee (I added milk &sugar), which was certainly on the medium side. There was no bitter after taste with it. With some coffee’s, I run a 2nd flow through it, for a larger cup. Being a medium roast, this would be too week to do so - I normally only do this on a much stronger coffee. For me personally, this coffee is too mild but it does work very well for my daughter’s mochachinno though, as she’s not keen on stronger coffee.I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative and useful.

Good-quality full-bodied coffee with a hint of butterscotch
I hadn't tried any coffee by FiXX (the grounded coffee company) previously so I was pleased to be able to try their Lisbon Ground Coffee. This is a full-bodied 100% Arabica variety which features a blend of Brazilian Yellow Bourbon beans that give it a bit of a kick but with a subtle butterscotch taste as described. We found this blend worked well in our filter coffee machine, with a similar grind to many of our regular favourites - this coffee is produced in the UK and brewing tips can be found on the fixxcoffee website. You can select the strength to some degree by varying the quantity of ground coffee used, but using the recommended amount gives a good rich result. This is a coffee for those who like theirs on the stronger side – but the creamy hint of butterscotch may appeal to a wider range of coffee-lovers. Currently around seven pounds fifty for a 250g resealable bag this is decent coffee at a reasonable price for the quality and gets five stars from me and my coffee-loving wife.

Smooth, but I am not so keen on the flavoured finish
~ ‘Pre-ground, ready to use in cafetières, brewers & percolators’A new brand to me, this is one of a range, from FiXX® ~ the grounded coffee company’, which also supplies whole bean versions. So, although this was not an exceptional ‘hit’ for me…I am happy to explore another potential ‘fix’, from the others currently available, possibly the award winning FiXX® Classic , for all coffee machines. The brand is easy to spot in a bright orange coloured foil packet that measures roughly 9 cm x 5.5 cm & stands around 22 cm tall.~ ‘Once opened, reseal the bag to retain freshness and store in a cool, dry place.’ooOoo~ FiXX®~ ROASTED & GROUND COFFEE~ ‘LISBON’~ 100% ARABICA‘Produced in the UK’SIZE: 250 g‘Our blend of Brazilian Yellow Bourbon beans.Full bodied & creamy with notes of butterscotch’[6 images attached]

Ground Brazilian Blend
This is pleasant, fairly creamy coffee if a bit undistinguished. It depends on your taste, obviously but also on how much you’re prepared to pay. At £7.50 on Amazon (p+p extra) it’s more than I pay for single origin beans which clearly give greater freshness of taste given you grind them yourself. Says on the packet ‘Produced in UK’ yet comes from an industrial unit outside Dublin. And I have no idea why this blend is called ‘Lisbon’. Seems strange. Why not Rio, Copacabana or even, wait for it, Amazon?!I get the impression from Fixx’s website that their main target is the flourishing retail outlets. Would be a big improvement on the dross some of them provide!

Smokey and Smooth
Firstly, this comes in high quality packaging with a widget to keep the coffee fresh. The packet itself says to use your own discretion with regards to measurements, as coffee is an individual experience. It gives a website link to use in order to get directions. Full marks so far. I made a medium strength and that gave a pleasing aroma and flavour. It had a smokey taste but was not bitter, which I think could have been due to the butterscotch flavour mentioned in the description. This gave it a smoothness which did not overwhelm. Overall a smooth, smokey coffee which I enjoyed.

Strong, tastes like it was fresh ground, nutty taste
Firstly i normally have bean to cup, grind my own or use a grinder. This is ground coffee but to be honest tastes and smells just like it has come from a grinder, it really is nice.I use this in a Mokka pot, so 2 scoops and have a full mug of it, i find it strong and nutty but not sure i'm getting the hint of butterscotch. Froths great and smells amazing. Not tried using any other brewing method, so your mileage may vary.Slightly more expensive than i normally go for, i'm a bit of a cheapskate and normally expect £10 for 1kg so this is definitely a treat, but it really is worth it occasionally.

Smooth but not rich enough for me
This is certainly a very smooth coffee, and has something of a caramel and chocolate finish, but overall it's not rich and intense enough for my taste. At double the price of the sort of coffee I would normally buy it would have to be somewhat spectacular to impress me, but it doesn't. Having said that, to be honest I've never been a great fan of New World coffee and I usually stick to Indonesian and East African grown coffee, so I may not be the best person to judge the quality of this by the standards of New World coffees.

Sweetly Flavourful
This is a premium coffee with a clearly defined sweet flavour - noted as butterscotch, which does come through, but it hints at chocolate as well thanks to the Brazilian blend. It's very nice. It is lacking the caffeine kick I'd prefer personally, but makes for an ideal mid-morning choice rather than a 6:00am eye-opener.I've used this in an Aeropress and standard filter coffee machine, with good results on the flavour from both methods.
