A good buy for the money
The Ready welder met all my expectations. It was a little tricky to set up, but has performed very well after getting used to using it. The gun is well balanced and does an excellent job welding aluminum. The price is very competitive as compared to other unit brands. and works very well.

in series and ran a full fillet weld the full 10 inch it was a nice bead!
I'm a welder and saw the first version of the Ready Welder 20 years ago in a hot rod magazine, I thought how well could this little toy really weld?. So I live 10 miles from San Pedro, Ca. Where the home of Ready Welder is, so I drove to S P, to sdeit first hand. The manager took me in the assembley area showed me the parts and how they go together, then over to the welding test area, I told them I mainly want to weld aluminum with it. He took a 1lb. Spool of 4043,.035. Aluminum wire put it in the gun which took about 1 minute, switched from co2 to argon gas, he took 2 pieces of 1/4"x3"x10"of 6061t-6Aluminum flat bar wire brush it, set it at 90 degree, with 2 full charged12volt batteries, I think they were group 27,in series and ran a full fillet weld the full 10 inch it was a nice bead !!, so I tried it , even better since I'm used to welding aluminum. So I bought it right there. I have had mine for about 12 years now and only use it a few times, "it does what they claim ". I use mine with a Miller 301g engine drive. One thing to watch is use the voltage control that comes with it 24v. My welder is both cc and CV. I forgot to put my 301g on CV.witch keeps the voltage low. In cc mode the voltage in open circuit is about 80 volts and I burned out the circuit board in the R W gun, witch they were nice enough to give another one free!!. I found out that the US army uses this for field repairs. It does flux core and mig.I am glad that I bought this little gem.
