I have a number of recipes that call for dried pears, and I never can find them in the stores around here. These dried pears are very tasty, just the right amount of "dry", and work well in my recipes.

Why doesn't the description specify whether the current shipments are from the USA or from South Africa? I've received both, and, to me, the pears from South Africa are not as good. As shown in the attached picture, the South African pears have a brownish tint rather than the gold color of the 5☆ USA pears depicted in the Yupik description. This is most likely because less sulfur dioxide was used in the drying process - similar to the difference between regular raisins and golden raisins. That doesn't necessarily make them less tasty, but it makes them less appetizing. The texture is different, too, than that of the USA pears. The SA pears are therefore less enjoyable, and I would not again pay the same price for them.

I tried dried pears for the first time at Bates Nut Farm in California, and they were very good. I tried these and they are almost as good, and a lot cheaper. I'm ordering my second bag now. I had a British professor in college who served me fresh pears with chocolate sauce, and that was surprisingly wonderful. So I tried these dried pears with a little chocolate sauce on them. What a great flavor combination!

I had purchased 2 bags in a row and the quality was decent. Good enough to order again. The next order was 2 bags at a time and wow, what a difference. These were so hard they had the consistency of leather. I guess if they thought they had me hooked, they could send their lesser quality stuff the second time. Won’t order again. Good luck, order one bag as a time.

These dried pears are sweetly tasty, large, and moist! The bag is huge and reseals well. Very pleased with this food choice!

These are really quite good! No sugar. Soft and tasty to start. If I don't update, you'll know it's a quality product. I would buy again

I ordered the large bag. Big mistake! The fruit is as tough as leather, brownish in color & utterly flavorless. It’s been years since I had dried pears; either my memory is defective or this doesn’t compare with what i enjoyed then.
